weekend hunts

Well I went hunting for squirrells on Sat morning. I hunted a ridge along a corn field but never saw any so I went to the big woods. As soon as I walked in I had a gray run up a tree and into his den- no shot. when I went to the next ridge I waited for about 10 min and I saw one on the ground, then 2, then 3. All from 10 to 20 yrds. The problem was it was covered in briars and tree tops. I tried to squeeze a pellet thru a small opening at one but I missed so I waited for a better shot. After a few minutes they started moving again and I had one at 10 yds finally stop in an opening. The superdome hit him right below the eye and went all the way thru. He flopped over, twitched and was dead in a couple of seconds. The others all ran up trees and went into dens. I hunted in a large circle back to my truck and saw a couple more but never got any shots. I used my B26-2 .22 with RWS superdomes for this hunt.
I went to John's on Sunday morning but we got soaked and ended up in his garage. We took turns running out in the rain setting up clay pigeons at 30, 40, 50, 60, and 75 yrds. We had a good time shooting these and learned a little about "holdover". Out to 50 yrds wasn't too bad but the 60 and 75 I really had to hold over. I was using the center of my bottom crosshair to hit the 75 yarder. I was shooting my Black Shadow .22 and he was shooting his 1250 .22.
