Hey Tommy, Here it is : Crosman / Benjamin Hammer Debounce Device (HDD)*Fits Crosman steel breech model rifles/pistols. HDD eliminates hammer bounce, thus creating a more efficient firing cycle, resulting in increased shot count and decreased noise. Installation requires no modification to the factory unit, and is a drop-in design.$20 Bill

I do not know about the C02 applications . But from what I have seen in the Discovery line they are not really that helpful . In most of Steve's testing he claimed a 20 percent shot count gain . But he failed to stress that the test were done with a modified discovery with a 2250 hammer spring . With a stock spring from what I have seen you get about 10 percent gain or about 2 shots . If you are thinking about going that way remember they are a little hard to install in the discovery and if you look at the chrony strings I got with a 2250 spring and no HDD you might want to not bother with it . It is about as useful as his original triggers as far as I am concerned in the discovery application . And if you follow the green it is about a 50 , 50 split on how they really work in other application. But this is only my observation so check it out your self. Marvin

Marvin I had one in my 1377 and it would jam sometimes. But really did not notice that much difference with or without it.

Gene I might add that I have never seen people that I would trust like Roy at Mountain air or Tim at Mac 1 have any thing to say about the HDD. And you are not the only one that has had that problem . And now the HDD is suppose to quite your gun as well . If ITS QUITTED ENOUGH THAT YOU CAN TELL IT THEN IT HAS ALSO SLOWED THE FPS DOWN . If you think about how a PCP or pumper , or a co 2 works then you know what I just said is true .Marvin

This a pretty good explanation on what it does, basically hammer hit the pin once >>> got this on one of them 2240 mod sites.......... "made an HDD (hammer debounce device) out of the polyethylene tubing, and it worked ok, but the material is too soft to last. I'm going to make one out of some harder plastic at some point. It gave a lot more shots, since less CO2 gets wasted when the hammer isn't bouncing into the valve multiple times per trigger pull. This allows the hammer to fly forward without any drag, but as soon as it starts snapping backards the HDD expands against the walls of the bolt bore and brakes it. This stops the hammer from opening the valve multiple times as it bounces back and forth between the hammer spring and valve spring tension, which obviously just wastes gas. It fits over the hammer's cocking pin, with the slot/opening facing backards. The opening/slot is what makes the device expand, the hammer snapping backwards makes the pin attempt to back out of that opening/slot and makes the body expand in that bolt bore, creating friction to slow the hammer. Forward motion isn't restricted though, so your shot velocity remains unaffected. You just get way more shots per fill since it isn't re-opening the valve after the pellet's already gone."

Leo you are right . But this is why it does not work well in a Discovery with the stock spring . The stock spring is strong enough to keep the hammer almost still by its self . And as I STATED it might work in a co 2 application well but the discovery is a different case . And the truth about the product and its claims should be clear . That is the point that I am makings . Yup..should work on co2. I emailed the poster on the freebee before it got yank out. I saw the post 5 minutes after and all hell broke loose on some old issues we've seen before.
