I'd like an opinion on NikkoStirling scopes. They were pretty good back in the 70's and these are air gun specific. Prices aren't bad, either.

I have a few Nikon Scope's, And they are some of the best scope's money will buy. For the price. The stirling I have not tryed but the Monarch and omega are very precision scope's. As a matter of fact I may post a 3-9x40 Nikon omega on the classified's. They are built for muzzleloader's and a tech at Nikon told me they wont break period. They will replace for life of scope. This one is the true mil dot scope. AKJC1977

To whomever moved my post-thank you. Guess I had a cranio-rectal inversion moment. These scopes are not Nikon-a very fine scope. I am a surveyor and spend several hours a day looking through Nikon optics. They also tend to cost correspondingly a very ugly price for a limited budget. These are NikkoStirling. I fired a Browning 30-06 that had one around 30 years ago (then called Nikko) and it was a very good scope. These are running around $90 with airgun type mounts.

BigJim, I don't know if you're looking at putting one on a springer.
If so, download the online catalog and you'll see that the Nighteater series are all Spring airgun rated.
I also talked to the guy who spec'ed those for Legacy.  He said that it was a MUST that those scopes be built that way.
I read up alot on them and they seem to have good feedback and are said to have decent optics.

Well, if you end up unemployed BigJim, let me know.  I have a leapers 3-9x32 A/O with sunshade that I'm going to get rid of.
You'll like the price!
