I know Gene has both and I would appreciate his input.

I am looking for a decent (not great) side focus mil dot scope. 16x magnification would be enough. The budget is very tight, that's why new Contender series might be my choice. I like the tactical looks and turrets of both these scopes.

Anyone have a different scope in mind that would suit my needs?

I do not like my new BSA Contender. For the simple fact that it has a very long eye relief. Other than that it has very clear glass. The gimbles all lock down and are very easy to adjust. Side focus is wonderfull..

I own several Hawke Scopes which are the 4-12X40 AO Ballistic Air Max, and the 4-16X50 AO Ballistic Map Pro. These have the reg 3.5 eye relief and have great glass for the money.

The Hawke scope work great with my eyes and also the Simmons White Tail Classics are very clear glass as well but they would only work on light recoil air guns and PCP's

None of the Hawke's or Simmons I own are side wheel objectives.

Here is a picture of the new style BSA Contender which I do not like...Sad

    Good Luck

Thanks Gene for quick reply. Which BSA do you have? 3-12 or 4-16? And since you don't care for it, maybe we can make a deal???

    Lemme know,
