Hot Rod 392

Decided to do some more work on my 392 (.22 caliber). I did a little restyling of the stock. Shortened the forearm, did some work in the pistol grip area and the butt stock, and an adjustable comb riser. Then I painted the stocks with brown Rustoleum textured spray paint, and added some brown felt inside the forearm to cut down on the "clack, clack, clack" when pumping.
Then I opened it up for some valve work. I shaved about an 1/8" of an inch off the length of a new check valve and had my son fire up his new lathe and turn down the valve stem for me a bit. The valve spring had about 3 coils removed and the hammer spring has a washer behind it.
Just had it out and shot it over the chony.

Crosman 14.3 - 8 pumps - 690fps (5 pumps - 590fps)
RWS Superdome 14.5 - 8 pumps - 710fps
JSB Exact Jumbos 15.8 - 8 pumps - 675fps
No air is left in the valve after an 8 pump shot.

I was surprised the Superdomes shot so much faster than the Crosman pellets. But then again the Superdomes shoot better than any Crosman pellet out this rifle too. Probably a better barrel fit.
