What the secret to keeping pellet from getting stuck in the breech bolt when you drop them in to load.
I was thinking of filling it up with rubber cement or something of the sort.
I could pick it out if I need to remove it. Any thoughts?

silicone....it picks out easy with a pin/needle...
use pellets that don't have a square ridge around the head
to get hooked up...JSB Exacts work well...

Welcome to the GTA Marty !!!

I have read of a screw that fills the hole better, but do not know where to buy it ? It was mentioned, by no supplier was named ?

Some fill the hole with wax !

Others drill a hole in the front tip of the probe, and insert a short doubled wire, that will hold the pellet into the barrel ! I have been thinking about that myself !

Now an extended bolt probe I believe will help, by placing the pellet on the tip of the probe ? That's one I intend to try before I drill into my probe tip !

I hope this helps you, I'm in the same situation as you, only I'm not working on that at this moment.

Good Luck,

Bill

Hot glue
It stays put until you need to pick it out.
And it won't be tacky or draggy like silicon.
You gotta remember, its alot like copenhagen snuff---a little dab-lil do ya.

I was about to second the wax suggestion as I've done it and it works..... but dang if I won't be pulling out the wife's crafting supplies tomorrow to try the hot glue!!!!
I think that's the best suggestion I've run across (other than upgrading to breeches with the new screw location) in quite a while.
Thanks!!!

I must be doing something wrong as I very seldom have a problem loading a 1377 or 2240.
I point the muzzle up as I load. The pellet slides back and the skirt catches on the bolt. Then just shove the bolt closed and there ya go. Round chambered. Even .177 wadcutters slide right in without a hitch.
Now if'n yer tossin' the pellet in sideways or somethin', all bets are off! Cheesy

And come to think of it,
It might not be the screw thats catching his pellets.
If the loading port of his barrel isn't really smooth or polished that could make loading pellets difficult also.

I was looking at the barrel and breech where they meet. I can see that a little polish job would not hurt. But it’s the breech bolt. I drop the pellet in and it falls right in the top of the bolt. I have become proficient in dropping the pellet right down the barrel. A taller bolt would be the best fix but it looks like hot glue going in.
