After 4 coats of bedliner, my test 2x4 still just looked like it was covered with black paint, but I was having interesting results with this:

The color is "Aged Iron".  I got it at Lowe's last year for about $6.

After 2 coats, this is what I've got:

This stuff has little flecks of mystery grit in it, and it dries with a nice grippy finish.  I was afraid it would feel like sandpaper (especially on my cheek), but it's not quite that rough.

Move out into the sun, and you can see that I have a couple of light spots (two at least on the cheekpiece and one on the wrist).  According to the can, I need to wait 48 hours before recoating it, and it's only been 24, so we'll see about tomorrow.  I'm pretty sure it's going to be ages before it stops smelling like spray paint, though.

Still haven't done anything to pretty up the beartrap release button or the trigger guard.  I should have taken a picture of the inletting; I lightly packed the inletting with paper towels, then taped the area off with several strips of 1" duct tape.  For the underside, where the fit is not that critical, I just packed balled-up pieces of paper towel in the slot for the trigger, and in the holes for the beartrap button and the screws.

It's not a bad little shooter as-is, still needs at least a trigger tune.

It will probably take a couple of months before it stops smelling like spray paint Smiley

I need to give it another coat, at least to touch up the thin spots.  After that, any ideas what to use as a sealant?
