How do you move in next to a gun club and then get mad about the noise? Idiot. That's about as bad as the guy that called when I was on duty complaining about the noise of helicopters flying around. You live next to a Marine air station and want to complain! I laughed and said I'd put a halt to the noise for him. Best part is I think he beleived me.

By being about as big a dummy as one can before purchasing the house !!!!


The Gun Club is well know in that town and has been there since the early 1900's. The dummy  grew up and works in that same town. Heard he's such a pain that no one likes him, including his parents.  

Same kind of dummys like those who moved into houses near the ends of the runways at JFK airport and then complained about the noise of jets !!!!

I hate when people do that, but if they know the right officials, you will be surprised what some aholes will do or laws they pass.

I used to autocross race often at Englishtown Raceway in NJ.  A few years back, around '02-03, someone had bought a house about a mile away and was complaining about the noise the cars make on the drag strip.  
Well they way I heard it was he was friends with the mayor and other county officials so they ended up passing a town code/ordinance that stated there cannot be any excessive noise on Sunday before 11am.  So they could no longer start any type of racing at 8:30-9am like they use to, and had to wait until 11am.  Now we don't get done with our autocross runs until about 5pm because we start 1hr late.

The race park had been there 40+yrs and this jerk moves in and he accomplishes that within a few months by knowing some people.  I know they were trying to do get some other laws passed for Saturday and during the week and put time limits on all the racing there. I don't know if they 've been successful because I don't race during the week or drag race.

Imagine like Paul said, someone moves near an airport, and tries to have the flights grounded until after 11am on Sunday because he wants to sleep late!!

Our Club wasn't the only one. Quite a few down near the city were closed by bankrupting them  with legal fees. Finally Governor Pataki signed a law preventing that from happening to anymore Gun Clubs.

So, as bad as NYS seems at times, I think it's the only State where Gun Clubs are protected by State law. 'Bout time they came up with a good one !!
