We have a hanging bird feeding dish just off of our back porch, approximately 4 1/2 yds.
Chick-a-dee’s, Cardinals etc. My wife didn’t mind the Chipmunk scrounging for seed on the ground beneath but drew the line when he figured out how to climb the arch pole (Shepard’s Hook) and get directly into the dish. A learning error on his part. Sometimes survival of the fittest may require caution when using a new skill set.

Slowly opening the sliding glass door and with an isosceles position, I shot said sunflower seed thief.

Daisy Powerline Model XT15 CO2 BB pistol. Smooth bore approximately 420fps

Not exactly a hunting tool but, nonetheless, apparently adequate for close quarter feeding dish defense.

Good job getting rid of a seed raider.

We have one that comes out from under the neighbors house to eat under their feeder, and their two cats don't seem to care. They must be serving up some realy good cat food over there ! Cheesy

Excellent shot at the munk with your pistol.  Those little rodents are twitchy and quick.  I don`t have any around but have seen them in parks....and they`re fast.  Guess the only time to nail one is when they have a seed in their paws and chewing on it.
