Fantastic morning!!!!! Woke up and looked out the window and what do I see? 4 Grackles and 2 Starlings pecking on the grass across the blvd......quickly but silently slid open the 2nd floor window screen and decided to take out a Grackle since I haven`t shot any this season. "Poof" went the Gamo Viper and the .177 CPHP smacked home....a sweet sounding "tok" revebrating back to me. The Grackle flew about 4 yards and crashed back down. The rest of the birds took off and I quickly went out to collect my prize. Paced off the distance: 26 yards. Hit the bird just above it`s left thigh and the pellet exited on the opposite side breaking it`s lower right leg. Pellet definitely destroyed some organs inside......

Took a couple of photos in the backyard....put the rifle, camera and bird away to get ready for work. As I was making lunch I see another 2 Grackles in the field......can`t let this opportunity get away!!!! Repeat the above moves and whacked another one....this one was a 42 yard shot at it`s back (It was pecking on the grass with it`s bum towards me)....the pellet exited through it`s neck. The Barska 3X12-50mm IR scope was set at 6X and I had leaned on a cabinet for a steadier shot (Both times).

First photo is of the first Grackle with some grass or worm still in it`s beak.

Second photo have them both together....the bigger one on the left was the 2nd one to bite the dust.

Nice shooting Stanley!!  42yds too, wow!

I got a few Grackles the last 2 weeks but they 've been falling from the trees down to poison Ivy patches.  That hill behind my house is getting really bad.  The Poison Ivy/oak has spread everywhere and it's really thick, not one here, one there.  It's everywhere, and I start itching when I just get close to it, not even touching it.  It never used to bother me up until a few years ago.

Harry, I think you need to spray abit of gasoline on the poison ivy and burn them (On wet days!!!)....they`re going to take over your backyard!!!!
