I've got a nice BSA SS .177. I've been trying to get the main spring retaining pin out, but not able to move it more than a 1/64" one way or the other. I've got the stock and scope removed with the rest of the gun sitting in my spring compressor. I've tinkered with the amount of pressure I'm exerting on the end cap locating plug...nothing seems to work. I'm using a small soft drift to drive the pin out; I also have a shop manual with blow apart diagram. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
