We're under assault by 2 red squirrels. Generally, I let them get away with a lot, but when they're crawling up, down, and over the house (pooing and peeing along the way), it's game on. Threw my 4x scope on yesterday, spent a couple dozen shots sighting in and getting used to it again, and missed the shot on a perfect set up due to slightly longer range than I'm comfortable with (30yds)... and I twitched. I'm not a very experienced hunter, shoot a lot more paper than fur or feathers. Got another chance today at about 25yds (very good distance for me), decided I was comfortable going for a headshot (my first on a squirrel), steadied much better than the day before, and the poor bastard dropped like a brick.
There's at least one more out there. We'll see...

Great shot at that redhead. What air rifle and pellet did you use?

Was this your first squirrel kill? Congrats! Very nice shooting. You have to show them who is boss on that property

Thanks. Quick indeed, but every now and then they seem to freeze for just long enough.

Damn straight! Not my first... third or fourth, but first this year. I have strict rules of engagement, they're not violated very often.

Nutter Down!!! Great shot. I had to take one who was crawling inside my feeder. I feel bad that I had to kill him but enough is enough. Stand your ground on your ROE and cut them no slack.

Thanks. I'm very happy with the shot (pic and pellet). There's one more out there, at least there was yesterday. If I see it today and it presents me with the shot, I'll let y'all know. The Red Menace has my blood up.

Yeah, I tend to feel a little bad about it too... until my survival instinct kicks in and demands I protect my shelter. It helps me to think of them as cute furry cockroaches too.
