Doorbell rang just before 6 pm, opened it to see the UPS man walking towards his truck and a large package on my doorstep,,,, the QB57 .22 I ordered last week had arrived I finished dinner then took it down to the workshop and unpacked it. The metal and stock were just as nice as my .177. I went ahead and took it apart to give it a really good cleaning and remove all that chinese mystery oil, finished up by cleaning the barrel squeeky clean. There wasn't really very much gunk in the barrel compared to the .177 QB, only took a handful of patches and it was clean. Put the rifle back together again and went out in the backyard to test fire a few pellets and make sure it worked. The rifle cocked nicely, all the safety mechanisms worked fine and the trigger, like my .177, wasn't half bad. Fired about a dozen pellets without any problems and without any dieseling. Will chrony it tomorrow, but it sounded like it was shooting pretty hard as the pellets slammed into my plywood target backing. My new Golden Antler scope is supposed to be delivered tomorrow according to the tracking info so I'll mount it on the the rifle, get her sighted in and ready to hunt. Looking forward to seeing what kind of chrony numbers I get. Hopefully will be making a post or two soon with the rifle laying next to some tree rats Jeff

The Golden Antler scope I ordered for the .22 QB57 arrived late yesterday afternoon. I immediately took the box down to the workshop, opened it up and immediately mounted it on the 57. I have a Centerpoint 3x9x40 on the .177 57, and I'll leave it there as it's a nice scope and works well on the rifle, but I have to say that the Golden Antlers lighter weight and overall size seems to be just a better fit. Anyway,,, all the screws were tightened down so I ventured out to the backyard range to sight her in. One of my favorite small game hunting pellets, besides the predator of course, is the RWS SHP. These pellets are super accurate in almost all my .22 rifles and they've proven themselves to be deadly on small game, so I decided to sight her in using them. With the first 3 shots I knew I had chosen the right pellet. All 3 shots went into the same hole Within 15 minutes I had her sighted dead on at 25 yards and the SHP's were giving groups just a tad smaller than a dime. The wife and I had a dinner engagement so I only had a short time to shoot so my shooting was done kneeling behind a lawn chair and resting my left hand on top of the chair, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of groups I can get from my shooting bench. I will do my usual grouping tests with all my .22 pellets, but the gun loves the RWS SHP's so that's what I'll be feeding her for starters. I'm thrilled with the accuracy and performance of the rifle, I don't plan on tuning her up just yet. Gonna shoot her for awhile just as she is, especially considering how she's shootin She's gonna be a good hunter for sure...... Another $54 bucks well spent Jeff

That's great, Jeff! Shoulda known you'd be able to figure out an exceptional pellet on the first try- you must have some kind of intuition by now- LOL!
I imagine it won't be long before I'm forced to push the button on a '57 (since it packs up in its own case, it might could make a great bring-along gun for my cycle ;~)

Are these a spring air rifle. I was wanting a cheap 22 caliber to hunt with. How much do they cost. Never mind I found the site and wow I just got to get me one of them. They are a cool looking rifle. I hope they are not going to be sold out. There not a clearance item I hope. Thanks Rifleman

Hey Chuck,
No, they're not a clearance item and I don't think they will be sold out. I ordered my .22 and received it only a few days later.
I haven't chrony'd my .22 yet so I don't know what numbers she is pushing, but I'm getting great accuracy and she seems to "sound" like she's hitting fairly hard, so I'm gonna hold off for awhile on doing a tune. I think she'll do just fine for close in hunting, say 20-25 yards, just the way she is with good shot placement. I will probably do a tune later and try and pump up the FPS a bit, but right now I'm happy with her the way she is.
Let us know if you wind up ordering one and if so how you make out.
Jeff
