Guy's I have tryed to think of several ways to use a standard bipod on my Gamo. You cant install a sling stud anywhere that would be logical for bipod location.Cant use one that clamps to barrel. I have been thinking bout a design that would just sit in the cocking linkage area. I have some cheap bipods that I might cut off and weld a plate to that will just sit in the cut out of the stock where the linkage opens thru.That way you can cock it and just set the gun on it basically, I love bipods. I cant think of anywhere to mount a weaver rail to except a pod either. Maybe someone know's something I don't,fill me in.AKJC1977

There is a universal-fit spring-loaded bipod on Pyramid Air, it's only 8 bucks. You wouldn't be able to leave it on the barrel or stock while you're reloading your break barrel air rifle, but it'll work fine for taking a shot. http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/UTG_Zytel_Clamp_on_Bipod_for_airsoft_guns/773
As far as I can tell, that's the only type that'll work with a breaker barrel.

Simple.....bend a u shaped plate that can be held on by the front stock bolts..
Make it long enough for the cocking arm to move under it.....
You may have to cantilever it rearwards a bit to give barrel clearance
when in the fully cocked postion......

Two ways come to mind....
Mount the bipod further back on the stock, just to the rear of the opening for the cocking llinkage.... Kinda like the tripods machine guns use.
Or do like many field shooters do and use 'shooting sticks'.
I prefer the shooting sticks. They're much more versital than a bipod. Using a wingnut on the pivot bolt and drilled with a series of holes spaced along the length of the sticks, they can be adjusted from low enough for shooting prone, to folded open to suport for shooting from a standing postion - depending on how level the terrain is and grass height.
Fully opened, I also use mine as a walking stick and as a steady rest for glassing long hay fields for woodchucks when I'm using high powered bino's.

Thank's guy's those are some great idea's. I had considered placing a sling stud further back,but that would make the gun kinda balance awkward. I think I will make me on of those shootin stick's. They would be good for shootin outdoor's.AKJC1977

Have you tried looking into the Crosman TAC-1 air rifle? Just my 2 cents.

Just for the sake of curiosity, I tried to support my Crosman G-1 extreme break-barrel on the barrel side instead of the stock, used it for paper punching at 10 yards and I was surprised at the results. The groupings are not as random or as scattered in comparison to a good fore arm stock hold.
I think the idea there is to have a secured grip on the barrel if you will be using a bipod (I just used a wooden bipod design) so that it will support the barrel on that spot every time to fire the airgun. Just my 2 cents.

Yeh Storm I have cosidered mounting it down below the cocking releif,I was afraid it would be way to centered and cause eratic movement.After looking at one done that way I feel little better bout it. How far back did ya have to go to keep cocking linkage from contacting the sling stud?

I would not fit a Bipod on a break barrel, ever! It's just a pain to deal with from my experience, I don't see how the Crosman Tac owners can stand it.....anyway, I hope you found that link inspirational =]

Cut the bipod mount plate in half from front to back so you have 2 individual sprung legs with mount plates. Now, on each mounting plate halve, drill 2 holes. Line the bipod halves up on the sides of the stock, mark your holes, predrill them then use a pair of good sized wood screws to mount each halve to the stock.
Thats would I would do anyway...

You must have read my mind. I had a old NC Star pod here that I had nothing in and that was exactly what I did. I put it on the synthetic stock as I wouldn't want to booger up my custom wood stock,which I am still working on. I mean ya dont have to have a bipod but I sure do benefit from them,and it makes a lot of difference when sighting in a scope or just working on the gun mounts and stuff. Also is a safer way to sit your gun when taking a pause in shooting. Dont have to prop it up,and I dont have a gun rest yet.AKJC1977
