: 70-75 year old Daisy BB gun value?

My neighbor and friend is 80 years old and has, over his mantle, the first BB gun he had as a child.  He is curious how much it may be worth.  Going over to his place this evening and will take some photos.  I know curioguy is apparently a collector.  Wondering if he or anyone else may able to provide me some info about getting a reasonable appraisal of an antique BB gun?  Will post photos a bit later.  Thanks.

Tom, get all of the #'s, take some pics and I'll do some research, to see if I can find anything. There used to be a shop close by, that deals in antique and unusual guns. I haven't been down that way in a while, but it was still there the last time I was. He had a few dbl barrel BB guns and a couple of what, he called a mutiny pistol, it had 3 barrels, all fired at once, one pointing straight and the other 2, on about a 35deg angle, to the sides.

Here are the pics.  There are no identifiable markings or number on this gun.  He "thinks" it is a Daisy.  Loads  BB's thru a small hole near the muzzle by turning the end of the muzzle to open the loading port.  A pumper, obviously.  Doesn't pump (didn't force it).  Many years since last fired.  Who knows?  Trash or treasure?

Looks to be in pretty rough shape. The rare Model 25 would be a nickel plated version, {AKA:white 25} but many {except white}were manufactured between 1914 and 1958 . . .

Vol Two, Number One (http://"http://www.airgunhobby.com/new_page_3.htm) of Airgun Hobby (http://www.airgunhobby.com/) magazine pgs 55-66 has a good deal of information on the Daisy 25 versions and dates of manufacture for different variations.

Looks like it could at least use a wipe of Ballistol (http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item.asp?sku=00205120076) every so often, to helpkeep it from rusting any more. . .

If you think the gun is in rough shape, you should see its owner.  No, best leave the old BB gun hanging where it has probably been the last 10 years or more.  Thanks again.

Tommy,it looks like a model: 105 junior,mfg 1932-34.......105 ranger made for Sears & Roebuck 1932-34.......107 Buck Jones Special..1932-42...I'm looking at a picture of same gun it looks just like yours...the Junior in mint cond. is worth $1000..the Ranger in mint cond is worth $2800..the 107 Buck Jones in 95% cond. is worth $650...that's right out of the Blue Book.....

The Daisy is supposed to have markings and Doc said there are no markings. Unless rust obscured the markings,a Daisy has a 'stamping' next to the wood on top.

This is the 'stamp' on a 1969 nickel 102 shooter. No collector value, but alot of fun.
