Dave,

Merry Christmas!

You need to be here in April!! Do we have to take up a collection? I know things in construction may be tough - shouldn't joke. We do want you here.

I need someone who can repair a bathtub enclosure, replace the shower and tub fixtures and re-tile. I guess I could wait until April. Can put you up while the work is underway.

And that was a fine looking case, Dave.

Tommy, when I flew back from GSP with the Remington 870, it was pretty easy. They made me stay at the checkin counter until someone from TSA looked at it. He just took a quick look and asked if it was loaded.

You can shure ship here, but it may have to stay on my porch from the UPS delivery till I get home. And I have seen some rough treatment by the parcel people, too.

J

Hey, Ken, how big is that 6K tank, and how many cu. ft.?  And how long does it last you, I get 6 months from mine, yours must last a year :-)!

Guys, I checked Alaska Air today, round trip this early is only about $300, I'm thinking I just might be able to make it happen after all.  Jerry, I'd love to help you out with your bathroom repair/remodel, but bringing tools AND guns sounds a little too expensive :-).  Besides, I'm not much of a tile guy, although I've done it, I don't like it that much, and the results tend to show it.  Dan, email me and lets figure out a schedule.  Looks like I'm going to have to make a decision, I've got 2 rifles now with a 3rd on the way, and my case only holds 2 :-)!  Wonder if I can squeeze the 3rd in there...

Looking for approval from everyone to call this a set time, please let me know what you all think, some folks want to book airline tickets and they are cheaper the earlier you buy them. Please let me know asap!

Dan, this is an acceptable date, I see no issue. Weather normal high 77 normal low 57. We average 8 rainy days in a normal April, with 3.2 inches of rainfall in the month.
DaveD, what do you say? You comin'?
David E, will this work for you? Can you get the targets again?

Im not sure of the cubic foot but it weighs like 250lbs. If i figured right i should get 100-120 fillups. I talked to the buddy of mine that owns the welding supply where i got it. He is going to let me take another for the weekend ( free of charge) . He cheated off all my tests in high school he owes me.  :emoticon: The dates are cool with me.

Okay, based on what I've been able to find out, with nitrogen, it should be 494 cu. ft. at 6K psi, of course.  So for a rifle with a 300cc or so tube like my S400E, filled to 3K and refill at 2K, that would be about 342 fills.  For something like my Cyclone, at about 200 cc's, it's over 500 fills.  For comparison, my tank is about the same size, but at the lower pressure/cu. ft., I'd only get about 200 fills for the S400.  Even if you were filling an Air Force rifle, that's over 200 fills with your tank.  So what are you shooting that you figured only 100-120 fills?  Sounds like you've got the PCP guys covered, nice having friends that owe you :-).

Jerry, still not 100% certain, but looking pretty good.  The wife is vacillating a little bit, but mostly just because of the timing, early spring can get really busy around here, not that the honey-do list is any smaller this time of year :-).  Although if work doesn't pick up, I may still have to sell the S400 to make it.  Dates aren't all that important on my end, once you guys firm it up I'll make my reservations.  Later.

Working on.......

......figuring out if there are any other airgun related events scheduled for that weekend and also getting local hotel rates/availability, tourist info, etc, etc, together.  I will hopefully have everything compiled by tomorrow (Sunday Dec 28th), at that time I will make an announcement.  Also trying to work out something with a caterer for food and refreshments for the event, not really fair to have guys drive up for the event then spend their whole day cooking.  Also Joel has  arranged to have two large tarp tents at the shootout for us to all huddle under if the weather gets nasty.  If no-one else has read all of the above posts, Ken (a.k.a. Tyrrund) is bringing some large industrial nitrogen cylinders for the PCP guys to get fills from, that should qwell any fears of bringing SCUBA tanks on the plane...Thanks Ken!!!!  I will continue to work on DaveD to get him talked into coming out again and living on my couch, it's a nice couch, he will be fine:)

Question:  Would anyone be interested in having a "pre-shootout" dinner at one of the local establishments for Friday night?  Nothing super fancy, just thought if there was a large enough group I might have to seek out a place that can handle us all.

Dan,

Sounds like you are headed towards renting battery powered target carts, and having a beer girl to run to the cooler...

Catered?
Refreshments?
Dinner the night before?

Are you going to hire a string quartet? Damn, this is TEXAS. Forget that California stuff, Dano.

I vote we establish some form of reward/bribery for the "unfairness" that the cook will endure. I thing most BBQ cooks LIKE to do it, and we had a volunteer who has cooked at the International Barbecue Cooking Contest, bubba. :emoticon:

I'll invite the out of towners over to my place for dinner on Friday, but the catering will be handled by Costco.

Jerry:

According to my calculations, Ronbeaux will have a 9 hour round trip drive with the cost of fuel for his truck in order to be able to arrive, set up, and spend most of his time cooking.  Sounds good to me, but just in case Ronbeaux and his wife have a different idea about fun ways to spend a weekend, I think we can certainly be flexible.  And if I fly in Friday afternoon, you will need to fed me TexMex and all the cerveza I can consume.  Plus, I for one would like to hang out with Dano and the NTAGM for some social time and serious drinking before I have to think about shooting and gun safety.  PS:  you are the designated driver.

That's great news, Dave.

Alaska Air! That's a good ticket price for such a long flight.

You may want to ship guns here, too.
Did have a contractor lined up to do the bathroom work, but he seems to be strangely hard to find. I'm sure I can get a local contractor, make a few calls tomorrow.
