Ronbeaux is still at the sisters lake house and will not be able to respond till late tomorrow..
But being His brother I can assure you that he would rather cook 90% of the time.. he loves it as much as I do...  I have already told him I would Pay half his Fuel to get there and back since Mrs. Quest and I will be staying in the Rv. with him and Tonya... Heck I would have to get a room anyway...  So don't worry yet about catering and such.. I can absolutly gareteee the His back woods Chubby pit is a set it and forget it cooker...

He will have plenty of time to shoot and enjoy the functions...
I will be playing second chef [ which I don't usually have to do ] SO ALL IS GOOD...

Well OkieDokie!
Tell Ronbeaux I will chip in on some diesel money, too, providing, of course, that the BBQ is up to my high standards! (LOL).  Sure it will be! We will look forward to seeing both of you there, as well as your lovely and talented wives.

Just let me know guys, we still have 4 months and I don't need to know today.  I don't want anyone to have to work, if all else fails we did real well just bringing small BBQ's and cooking our own stuff....it's really no big deal, everyone brings a steak, or some burger, or some dogs, and we cook and eat as needed:)  There is plenty of space on the patio area to setup a few small grills, might actually be the simpler way to go AND give us more room to park with no huge meals on wheels rig....haha!!  More parking means more shooting area since they are one and the same areas.....just a thought.

I'm a slacker,......

.....got too busy enjoying my Sunday afternoon rakeing leaves and cleaning the garage to do much research.  I did find out that the only airgun event planned for that weekend is the shoot the guys at Yegua have every month on the 3rd Sunday I think it is, other than that I think we're ok.  The Little Rock show wont be for 2-3 weeks after our planned shootout date, so that wont be a problem.  I hate to plan over the same weekend as the Yegua shoot in case any of those guys want to attend, but I'm afraid that this is just the way it'll have to be since it works for most of our guys.  If someone wanted to attend both they could come Saturday and attend Yegua on Sunday.  I guess what I'm saying is that EVERY weekend is a bad weekend for someone, so I think we should go ahead and plan for the 18th and 19th of April as discussed previously.

I don't know if everyone read my previous post, but camping will NOT be an option at the shooting area.  The other problem is that it might be pretty difficult to drive an RV down to the shooting area, it's a narrow dirt road downhill from the main residence.   Maybe if we find a place for RV's someone can pick those folks up and drive them to the shooting area?  It might also be an option to park at the top of the hill and hand carry stuff down, but that's a bit of a hassle.  We'll figure it out:)

....actually spoke with Joel today and he is going to look into the RV park and hotels, he is better at that stuff than me.  I have someone at work that books all of my travel for me or I would probably end up sleeping in my rental car:)  We DID however decide that the dates WILL be the 18th and 19th of April 2009, so go ahead and start planning for it:)

I'm in and will bring the targets.  This time we should set the Caldwell back a little further, maybe 50 or 75 yards.  I do need to come up with some big bore targets though.

Let me know what else I can do to help.

Thanks David, and in case you didn't see the post above, we have firmed up the dates as the 18th and 19th of April.  Joel is working on camping and hotels.

Did your bigbore friends ever email you?  No-one ever returned my emails, and one address came back rejected.  I guess it's still the Holiday Season, so I'm guessing a bunch of folks are still trying to get through New Years before making any big plans.  Bought a scuba tank today and sold my pump, man the tank is so much easier:)

Not only move it back, but maybe set it in a more central location, I think I kind of monopolized it last time :-).  I know I can hit it at 50 yards, not sure I can make them fall with the .177's.  But the .22 PCP's shouldn't have a problem.  99.9% sure I'll make it, already looking forward to it.  Later.

This sure is a sweet shooting location.  I do think though that I under-did Joel's steak last time!  I kinda thought it needed longer- I just didn't want him to be the last one eating.  How did you guys like the pasta salad?  I'm thinking I'll do up another batch if it was a hit.  Might bring my garlic, fresh basil, red pepper red potatoes too this time around.

I love that location too, I actually went back the following weekend and did a little more shooting, hehe!!!  When I PMed you a few minutes ago I had potatoes on the brain, I meant pasta salad would be great, not potato salad...but I like potato salad too:)  I'm kinda starting to think our best bet is to just do the BBQ thing again and have everybody bring what they want to eat, plus a little extra for the guys who come from out of town and can't bring anything.  The separate BBQ's worked fine last time, and we all kinda threw on what we wanted, when we wanted it, so there was plenty of room.  Maybe we can get a few guys to volunteer their BBQ grills again??  Anyone??  I have a small camp stove that may be good enough for heating a pot of beans, and maybe a burger or two.  We will probably have all of the tables and chairs like we had last time, but if someone has a favorite chair, or a shooting bench (like me), then they can bring that also.

Just to be clear for everyone reading this thread, the shootout dates are April 18th and 19th of April 2009.  We will probably do a headcount before too long to see who is bringing who, and who is bringing what:)

invited us not that the food wasn't part of the consideration. (A big part)...lol...8)

Gene and I discussed it again today and decided that we are going to commit to flying in for the shootout unless something unforeseen happens to prevent it. It seems that TCups (Tommy) has already made his arrangements unless I'm mistaken.

We may have a bit of a problem though. With big Tommy coming:), me with my big head 8), and Gene with his big belly :D, we're unsure if the state of Texas is big enough to handle all of that. :p  It's already taking two different planes. Another issue..... is there going to be enough food??? We here in SC eat like it's the last supper, usually 5-6 times a day and we git started early.:o

Hopefully it will be a big turnout with good weather. (Someone said that they don't have bad weather in Texas...lol...) All three of us are sure looking forward to the shootout and meeting as many of the members as possible, having a great time and a weekend of fun and festivities.  8)

And Dan.... get a rocking chair for me will ya???.

Thank you Dan for the invitation and thank you gang. We'll see you all at the range.
