« on: July 28, 2009, 11:57:04 AM »

Looks like we will see another Shanghai springer hit the streets before long. Those of you who like the power of the TF-89 will enjoy the new thumbhole version. Looks to be the same power plant but with a nice thumbhole stock.

? 1250fps muzzle velocity in 4.5mm
? Adjustable rear sight
? Scope rail
? 2 stage adjustable trigger with automatic trigger safety
? Thumbhole European beech stock with raised cheek piece and soft rubber butt plate
? Checkered forearm and pistol grip
? TRUGLO fiber optic sights

Well Jeff you may even be able to buy a stock from Compasseco and to replace your one on the TF 89..:) I would bet it is the same exact power plant and trigger.

While I was expecting this, my TF87 arrived today and it is an UNDERLEVER. Eric at compasseco specifically told me it would be the AR200FC, and my eye was what you have pictured here. I am going to return it unshot -- even if it does seem like a nice rifle (a spunky TF99).

Any idea where we can get a REAL AR2000FC?

THAT is what I got...the AR3000...I've already got an underlever at this level. Disappointment all around. I was hoping for a gasram, thumbhole stock, 940fps .22...I got another TF99 instead. Blah. It is exactly this:

LOL Rich

I wonder what happened to the REAL AR2000FC? As far as a TF-99, I will not even touch one of them...:) I rank them up there with the turkish made springers..:(

Let us know how your TF-89 turned out and some pics would be great.

There was a gas truck accident on the highway, so I'm home late and it is already getting darkish. I'll take them tomorrow. I've perhaps went over-board and mounted a Nikon Monarch on it....It looks pretty awesome!

While I'm not surprised, the AR3000 must have a little more sting then the TF99/QB36-2:

I think you will find considerable difference between the AR3000 Hunter and the QB36-2 rifles. Not having had one in my hands this is speculation at best. The AR3000 Hunter appears to me to be a reasonable copy of the Norica Quick: http://www.norica.es/index.php?opt=2&id=332&bs=&spos=-395.4px and/or the Hammerili Nova: (Re-badged Norica) http://www.pyramydair.com/p/hammerli-nova-air-rifle.shtml I would think you will find the performance of the AR3000 Hunter closer to Compasseco's advertised  performance for the QB36-2/TF99. The trigger will be the biggest notable diiffernce other than over all performance.

D R

PS: Sorry, you asked about the AR2000 Jet Series/TF87 and they are two different rifles. The TF87 is a re-badged SAG AR3000 Hunter! The AR2000 nothing more than a AR1000 Mag. Series with a thumb-hole stock and rated with PBA ammo. The old Gamo sight of hand trick! dr

It simply wasn't what I was looking for. I'm sure it is a fine rifle, but I think I'll have trouble returning it used... ;-)

If you are sure what you received is a TF87, send back your TF99 in it's place, the bimbo's at Compasseco will not know the differene.  :emoticon: OK, forget I said that but if they can't tell the difference between a BB and an UL, sheeees!

LOL! I wish I was able to take advantage of a situation but it isn't my game. I'm going to swap out for another TF89 and customize it...new stock, muzzle brake, gasram, tune. I'll probably pay a bit more total, but I'll have a totally unique gun...and I really think I'll be better off for it. Luckily  can afford that right now.

Compasseco has done well by me for a while. They mistook an AR3000 for an AR2000....frustrating, but not the worst they could have done. Gene tells m the power plant in the TF89 is probably similar or the same as the TF87, and he does an awesome tune on the TF89. Feels like a CO2 when I shoot the one he tuned. I think I'll be good with my decision to go custom.
