Diana 34 scope mount

(1/3) > >>

OK I tried to do a search for help but really dont have time to read a thousand posts.

Have new (five year old) "Lady Di 34 coming soon.  No scope, just iron sights.

Need to get the right scope mount ordered asap.  Recommendations please. Think I will use a Bushnell Trophy on her.

If you have droop http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/UTG_Scope_Mount_Base_Fits_RWS_Diana_34_36_38_45_Compensates_for_Droop_Stops_Scope_Shift/2298

No droop http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/UTG_Scope_Mount_Base_Fits_RWS_Diana_Rifles_Gamo_Whisper_Others/2639

These rings http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Leapers_Space_Age_1_Rings_Low_Weaver_Mount/2445

I have the "no droop" on my Panther it is a tad higher than I would like but it is fine as a hunter.
I also have the HM17021 from Hawke http://www.hawkeoptics.com/us/mounts/bases.php
It is about 1/8" lower than the no droop model. It has an over hanging half moon stop that will work just fine and you can fine tune the amount of elevation. Whichever way you go just make sure you get LOW rings.

Problem is I don't have the gun yet-- so don't have a clue if there is "droop" or not! :o  :p

I needed a new scope mount for my Diana 34 because the RWS "C" mount just wasn't getting the job done. I purchased the UTG mount desigined for the 34 from Pyrimid and the weaver low mount rings. They have 3 different UTG mounts for Diana's. One is for the 34, one is for the 48 which has less droop compensation, and one that has no droop compensation. My Diana must not have as much droop as most because the UTG mount for the 34 over compensated and I had to shim the front ring. I could have probably gotten away without shimming but I wanted to have the scope as close to optical center as possable. If you need the item numbers of the mount and rings let me know, I'll look them up and post them.

Some people on the Diana Collective site say for the 34, get the UTG for the 48, some say to get the UTG for the 34 and some say to get the no droop UTG mount and shim the back ring. I went with the mount for the 34 and could have used the mount for the 48. You never know how much droop your Diana 34 will have until you start mounting a scope. I know this makes it hard to choose the right mount but if I had to do it over again I would go with the 48 mount and shim if it was necessary.
