Does being a left handed shooter present any serious
handicaps shooting a Deluxe QB78?

No. I have a 78 Deluxe, an AR2078, and a QB79. You can make the receiver ambidextrous pretty easily. You can mill a mirror image bolt handle slot in the left side of the receiver and install the bolt with the handle sticking out the left side. Or so I've read. I may do that to mine.

I'm a right handed, leftie rifle shooter and I don't have any problems with my 78 Deluxe or 79. I actually kinda like it that way. Feels more natural to me to cock and load with my right hand.

Ya better be careful buying a QB78. They're more fun than they have a right to be, and are downright addicting.
