Got my Marauder yesterday
« on: May 08, 2009, 04:03:45 AM »
Been shooting it over the chrony in the garage tonight. This gun is very quiet and the trigger is great. It is a very nice looking gun and the fit and finish is excellent. It balances very well, not too heavy like I thought it might be. Installed a Bushnell Legend 5x15x40 mildot, adjusted the trigger slightly, grabed several tins of pellets and started shooting. At 2500 fill I can get shoot 25 shots of 18 gr JSB's from 785 to 827 back to 785. It is going to take some chrony and adjusting time to find what you want and to see what this gun will do. I adjusted it for 3000 and ran some CPH's thru it to see what I would get. It started at 927 went to 972 and back down to 925 in 20 shots. I shot a few clips of various pellets outside at 35 yards before dark and it seems to prefer the 18 gr JSB's(at least at the factory setting). 10 shots would go into one quarter size group and I was in a hurry. Several shots went into the same pellet hole. I think this is going to be a great rifle and is defineatly worth the price. Quiet, accurate, 10 shots, great trigger, good looks, good price, made in the USA.

I like your choice in PCP's :D

Good assessment!  You're right about the weight, it seems to be just right, not too light and not too heavy like my Sumatra 2500r.  I guess the next step is to play with the valve settings and more chrony time.  I'm wondering how it will be at the 2000 psi setting as I plan to use this one as a 2000 psi fill (assuming its performs adequately) and the Sumatra as a 3000 psi fill just to get my $$$ out of a fill (lol) :D

Congratulations.

I am using a new 4500 psi tank that I just got from Pomona. I also have a scuba tank ( which I'm selling) but I couldn't get enough fills on my AA, Sumatra's and Air Force rifles so it was time to upgrade. I also got a new B26-2 .177 low comb and it is a very nice rifle.
