hey guys, we've been running ryans MM QB78d bulked. i bought the bulk fill gear off of a member on the yellow, it included and hpa tank.
heres the question,..........when running bulked co2, we get about 25-30 full power shots. on hpa ( using a fill tube w/foster fitting ), the velocity goes way up, but shot count drops to maybe 10-12 shots. why is this ?

Because you can bulk more CO2 in liquid form than you can Air in it's gaseous state. You get higher velocity when you bulk air because the pressure is about 1500 PSI or so. CO2 would be between 800 andd 1200 PSI depending on ambient temperature.  Ambient temp air also flows better than Liquid CO2 that is transitioning to a gaseous state.

thanks sam......i new there was a simple answer.
as an example, ryans big cat typically chronies about 950fps, or through both sides of a steel coffee can.
on bulk c02, his qb will penetrate i side, ding the snot out of the other. on bulk air its through both sides of the can and continues into the pine backstop. i think he's liking the bulk air !!!

actually gene, its ryans ( my sons ) since joining the GTA, ryan has become very adept at shooting. this is the 2nd gun we've obtained from ed aka shadow; although ryans current favorite is still his gamo BC.

Just curious..you got that QB extra screw anchor to the valve for HPA use? Just a safety concern cause it just normally the valve is secured by a tiny valve set screw(#500)

May not be needed, but I've done the retaining screws on one of mine but not on the other 3 HPA's.

On a QB, the rear end of the valve is hard against that big steel ring inside the air tube... the one that takes the large stock screw stud on the bottom and the phillips receiver screw on the top.  For the valve to move back, the little valve retaining screw AND that big ring (held in place by the two larger screws mentioned) is going to have to move.
