I am wondering about the mendoza 2800. I like my daisy 953 because it repeats... but i don't know how the mendoza works... anyone have one and an opinion?

Someone just posted on his yesterday on the Yellow. He really likes it. That said, other's don't care too much for the Mendoza due to the special dieseling setup. They are meant to diesel to get higher fps, but it's erratic. There's an oil port over a fiber ring near the piston seal that is supposed to provide the fuel. Once the oil is depleted, the gun's are said to settle down but shoot .22's in the 600's or so. And I think the triggers can't be worked over, so you have to hope for a good one. Still, they are kind of a neat gun. The owner stated he had no issues with cycling and you can see when you are out of pellets, unlike others that end up getting dry fired. I would like to find one of the Crosman RM622's.

i had a rm 2800 in .22 from umarex.  i sent it back because the pellet feeder wouldn't work right and the pellets got jammed.  it's pointless to have a clip on a breakbarrel springer - you'll have to cock and load it every time you shoot.   i also had a rm 2000 and sent it back because the barrel inserts that make it shoot different calibers didn't stay secured in the barrel sleeve - it was not accurate.   i still want one.  i believe that you can get a good one.  they have awesome triggers.   i want to get a rm600 and tune it.

that is the one with the clip above the air piston tube and that holds like 10 wad cutters? if so, i find it very reliable, and the one i shot without dieseling was shooting .22 hobies at 650 ish...but  it was very accurate...

That is the performance I was talking about. Seem to do OK when you don't try to diesel them. 650 is a .22 isn't that bad, either, especially if you are hitting what you aim at.

I was thinking short-range targets, indoor, winter. Like I said the 953 is a fun shooter for me because of the self-indexing clips. The Mendoza is the only breakbarrel I've seen that suggests any type of autoload.

yes... the mendoza is very accurate and the coolest thing is that it is quirky... you are definitely going to be the odd ball at the range. I love the peep sightb too...

I have a Mendoza 2800...I love it...put my leapers 3-9x40 and it barely fit! the mag works great 2 jams in 1000 shots you have to use wads or domes....the FPS is way off though...the best trigger on the market....if you hunt this is the gun for you..if you miss or wound on first shot you got 6 more! it DOES NOT have lame oil port like all other models....any questions or if you would like some pics just let me know cheers Bart   PS the mag design will be used by every manufacturer once patent expires......
