Depending on when you purchased the .22 cal. version of the Daisy 880 rifle, it's either the 822 or 22SG. I have both version. I have also been collecting old old busted 880s with the metal pump handles to swap onto the 22SG rifles. The metal pump handle makes a world of difference in pumping up the rifle - 1) it doesn't bend; 2) it doesn't twist and 3), it allows you to pump the rifle faster. If you notice on the plastic handles, at 10 pumps, the plastic pump handles start to bow outward from the pressure against the rod that connects the piston to the pump handle. You won't get that with the metal pump handle. I don't know why Daisy went with cheap plastic pump handles for such a fine shooting rifle, but I've got both my rifles retrofitted with the metal handles and they are a real pleasure to shoot. The 22SG is also extremely accurate. I've kit bottle caps at 30 yards with it with the fiber optic open sights. So, if anyone's inclined to swap out their cheap pump handles with the older metal ones, you just have to do some homework and make sure you get the right one, because, apparently, there were 3 different versions of the 880 rifles. It would be safe to say any 880 made after 1970 will have the correct-shaped handle.
