Both are good guns, and both will need some work right out of the box, if you want to bring them up to their full potential.  The B50 has a better stock and trigger, and I believe can be tuned for more power, if that's your thing.

The Library has "The Book", a multi-page PDF on all the things you can/need to do to the B50/51.  It's a very simple rifle to work on, but like all things Chinese, QC is a crap shoot.  I got one from a forum member that knows his way around an airgun, he was convinced it was cursed, it had an air leak he never could figure out.  Once I got it, I stumbled across a binding valve stem bushing, problem solved.  But it's the sort of thing that never should have made it past QC.  Most of the basic fixes are simple and cheap, and there's only 3 or 4 of them.  If you don't want/like to work on your air guns, you can also buy one pre-tuned from Big Ed the B50 guy:  http://www.bigedmachining.com/  By all accounts, he does magic with those rifles.

I've shot a Disco a few times, but don't own one, and probably won't.  It felt toy like to me, and had a lousy trigger.  That said, it was plenty accurate, seemed to have reasonable power, and is made in the USA.  It's available with a pump for under $400 IIRC.  Lots of mods and aftermarket parts available, and they are also available pre-tuned from several sources, although the only one I can think of off hand is Mac1:  http://www.mac1airgun.com/  Best bet is to call Tim and talk to him, he's not so good about email :-).

I don't know your budget, but for only a little more than either of these will cost, you can get a Marauder.  It has a lot more features than either of the two you're looking at, and is a multi shot.  If power is your thing and noise isn't an issue, the Evanix Renegade and AR6 are very good guns, but they suck air like crazy.  Gotta get that power somewhere :-)!  Also a little more expensive than the Marauder, last time I checked.  Another very good option is buying used.  The various forums also have their classifieds, I've bought most of my airguns that way over the years.  It opens up your available pool of guns considerably.  Later.

The B50/51 is an exact copy of the Daystate Huntsman, excelent trigger, indeed can have more power than a Disco if that's what you want. A simple hammer spring change makes it a 2000psi fill airgun. DO download ChrisK's "BOOK". It is a full sized rig and very simple to work on.
Disco, poor trigger and that is after working on it. Small and light, 2000psi fill. Has cheaper materials than the Bam and it shows. I do own both and if selling the Bam would stay.
The B50/51 AFTER a re-crown (any local gun smith could help you there) is one of the best grouping barrels you can buy. With simple home tuning I can go from 12fpe to 40fpe in 2-3 minutes.
Feel free to email if you cant download the "BOOK".

thanks guys for the great info. I think i have found my choice, I believe it'll be the B50. I guess i was considering the Disco because of the great price and being that it comes with the pump. Will have to find a pump hopefully used at a reasonable price to go with the B50. Thanks again!

I have a 22 cal Disco, and a 177 and 22 cal Marauder. IMHO I like them all. I have taken game last hunting season. All my rifles are stock from the factory. Yes they are all tack-drivers.
Hope that helps!!!

I love my B50. I did some tune work after consulting spysir and "the book".  I tuned mine for power, though I can turn it down, if needed. Next, I want to tune my 909 Big Bore.

909 is a nice rifle. It has alot of power when given a tune, Several 909 tuners on Adentures in Airgun site or at least info on such.

After having a good look at my 909, I think one of the biggest problems is that the breech tube needs to be reamed or honed where the hammer travels. It's pretty roughly turned inside. Easy enough to fix. I'll probably make some laps from hardwood dowel rods and Delrin rod. Either one can be made undersized and slit on the end to allow wrapping with emery cloth. The wooden one can be easily impregnated with valve lapping compound or polishing compound from emery/rouge cakes. I'll polish the hammer some, and probably spray it with dry moly spray. Don't want liquid or grease lubes to slow the hammer down.
Don't know how much can be done to the valve on the 2 tube version yet. Will find out.  Ditto for transfer port.
I have to find a spanner wrench to remove the spanner nuts from the ends of the tubes.

I'm wanting to make a smoothbore shotgun barrel for mine. I may try to find a good used .410 barrel with screw in chokes and mod it to fit the 909.
I think you could make a barrel shroud pretty easily. Front/rear sights and rib under barrel would have to go, but should be doable without needing a riser breech/cover.
