This weekend, lacking enough to do, I stopped in at WallyWorld and purchased a Daisy Powerline 880 just for something new to play around with. At just under $40, it is essentially a toy even though the box says it isn't.
The Good:
This is a very accurate little rifle. It shoots virtually all pellets I have tried as accurately as I can hold at 10 meters.
It looks like a toy, not intimidating at all.
It is light.
It has just enough pull in the stock for an adult.
It is relatively quiet.
Pumping is fairly easy.
It isn't expensive.
The open sights shot well for me.
The Bad:
It looks and feels like a toy. It is mostly plastic.
The pellet loading port is pretty small making loading more difficult than some other rifles.
The scope that came with it is not worth mounting.
Trigger is heavier than I would have liked
Overall:
Well worth the $40. Longer pellets like Beeman Crow Magnums are much easier to load than shorter pellets. The short pellets tend to flip around and get lost in the BB magazine. Mine liked Crow Magnums, Meisterkuglens, CP Ultra Mags best but all pellets I tried shot well. Gamo PBAs were particularly difficult to load. Mine shot nicely with only 5 pumps. I used a compact Leapers scope I found in my closet and tossed the 4X15 plastic scope that came with the rifle - big improvement!
