something to think about barrel length ????

If you shorten the barrel of a pellet rifle will the pellet leave the barrel before the spring recoil affects the accuracy of the shot also will the pellet speed be affected by shorting the barrel . Is it possible that their is a length that a barrel will give you max. performance both in fps and accuracy? lets see what everyone  thinks about this howie  ??
