hey... Gabe here, in the southshore. It is awesome to find a place with people who share your interest. I have renewed my interest in airguns, although i always sporadically shot my trusty 1377 at cans and the occasional bird/rat. grew up with my dad's diana 34, which is still in the family but has retired to georgia, where it spends more time as a large paperweight... (sigh). my passion for airgunning was re sparked when i found online about cobra airguns, which is 5 minutes away from home. Needless to say, i have spent a ton of time with Dave and the crew, which are the most wonderful and patient staff i could ask for. Now in a matter of 2 months, i have purchased a new diana 34 (nostalgic), which is just as impressive now as it was when i couldn't hold it on my own... Then, i gave myself the pleasure of adding a Sheridan Blue streak, which i coveted for many years, and regard as the ultimate classic airgun. It is FANTASTIC!!! kept it open sights and all, dead on at 30 yards. After the pretty rifles, i needed a "toy", and something i could shoot indoors. So a crosman 1077 joined the ranks. lovely little gun, co2 BS aside... scoped and within 25 yards is a dime size hole puncher (5 shots). And is also fun with the repeating action ( must let it warm up between shots, or your 4th shot and other will be at very low speeds). After all this additions, the 1377 finally deserved a look over, so it got torn apart, cleaned and relubed. Also got a snazzy 1399 stock and became the "clever carbine that fits in a backpack" that it always wanted to be. it shoots around 530 fps with gamp hunters 7.51gr. and is deadly (to pest up to 20 yrds, cans and other cansized targets to 30 yrds...). wait till it's scoped... Then, i got an older, in the box gamo shadow 1000. strong, reliable and very light. i can carry it thru the woods for hours... that one will take a sqirrel down at 40 to 50 yrds every time. it's not pretty, but it is the rifle i'll go to war with... Finally, i made the mistake to "test" a BSA supersport... Holy S#%&!!!! It's all it took. last time i felt that way i married my wife. it was irrational, unnecesary, expensive and at a bad time (economy wise), but i took it home and i don't regret it. it is by far, the best rifle out there. mildly scoped, with a 4x32, headshots at 40 yards are stupid easy. it has his recoil, but not much, it's hold sensitive but not much, it needs pampering, but not much... is a work of art. it is so mellow, i can't believe it shot 930 fps with cpl's. Well, that is my family (airgun wise). I am interested in forming informal shooting groups, maybe get in touch with some other air gunners in the area so that we can exchange ideas, tips on spots for shooting, parts, maintenance and whynot... I hope to be of help to the group as well...
