Sportsman vs Golden Antler

How does the Tasco Golden Antler 3x9 AO compare to the Bushnell Sportsman 3x9 AO? The GA is about $22 cheaper. I have one of the Bushnell scopes.

I have a few of the Golden Antlers and they work well for me. Only complaint, if you wanna call it that, is that the scope adjustment turrets aren't capped. You have to be careful not to inadvertently hit them and change their setting. Other than than that they've worked well for me. I don't own one of the Sportsman so I can't compare it for you. Peakchic has a great amount of experience with the Bushnell scopes, as well as many other airgun topics, so I'm sure she could answer your question fully.

I had the GA but I was tired of the turrets coming loose all the time.  I ended up buying the Bushnell that you are referring to, I think the bushnell is slightly sharper and clearer, but only by a tiny bit...as far as adjustments though, the busnell is the hands down winner IMO...Hope that helps...

I can't comment on the Sportsman but I have four Golden Antlers mounted up and all have performed flawlessly. Clear optic's and solid, the only thing is that the scope adjustment's don't have cover's so alittle extra care when handling it and switch the mount's over to a good one peice mount. I've hunted in some adverse conditions with them and they held up nicely. I'm sure some of our fellow member's will jump in with some great advice and info shortly. Ed

The Sportsman also has exposed turrets. I have not had any issues with them. I guess I could wait until they go one sale again. Seems like I paid $52 for mine at Midway.

They are basicly the same scope. Both are built by Bushnell and if look at GA it looks like a bushy banner. The sportsman is not rated for heavy recoil. It's been rated for light recoil R7, HW30 etc. I recommend the GA but locktite the set screws for the turrets. HTH

Not a giant fan of less expensive  Bushy's and because of all the hubub I went ahead and Got the 3-9 Golden Antler with exposed turrets.
 I have to say I'm only satisfied. Not thrilled, not impressed just satisfied. Real dark and eye sensitive anywhere near full power. I've paid less for 4-12 &16s that made for better 3-9 scopes...
 Maybe it's because of the good luck I've had lately buying off brands?
Not to offend anyone who loves them. Everyones eyes are different, just not my cup of tea. It does look cool with the exposed turrets.

Well yesterday CDT brought over his Crosman 2250 for me to shoot and set the scope for him. I own a couple Tasko Golden Antler 32's and that is what he had on the 2250. That particular scope works great for me out to 35 to 40 yards on full power. It is not as sensitive to hold a bead on the target as many of my other scopes. I found it modestly sharp with clear view at the targets at 30 yards. It is rated for air guns and beats the heck out of the BSA 32 scopes. I think Jeff may have both the BSA 32 rated air rifle scope and the Tasko Golden Antler 32. Hey Jeff give us your two cents worth between the two.. By the way CDT's new 2250 is a target driver and he is not done working on it yet.. Maybe he will take a couple pics to share with us..
