I'm Jinxed I swear
« on: June 17, 2008, 01:33:24 AM »
I have a stream that runs down the middle of my property and along the side of my house, and I've always seen alot of water rats...i've shot them with my rws25 and my blowgun during the daytime, so i thought it would be fun to blast them at night, so I bought a Gamo Varmint Hunter. I love the rifle, GRTIII'd it, and haven't seen a rat since. I have alot of starlings around too, but since I've bought a Gamo Viper Express, haven't seen one since. I saw a rabid-looking racoon one night, so to take care of him so he doesn't tangle with my pets, I bought a Walther Falcon .25...haven't seen him since...WTF

Am I jinxed or does the mere presence of these premier whackmasters scare them away?

just venting,
Frank

Maybe they've been secretly watching you target shoot  :)

Seriously though,,,, I've had the same thing happen...   while scouting for new hunting land I'll  find a patch of woods crawling with tree rats and then when I go back during hunting season it's like they've vanished.  They'll show up again,, just be patient and keep practicing so you'll be ready.

Frank, I can relate bro. I used to get occasional shots at crows here at my rural Tn.home. I now think that crows are the smartest creature on the planet. Seems they have a vast communication network that keeps them informed about "Danger areas". I swear they avoid my house and yard as if they know  better than to come near here. Now the neighbors property and all up and down my road crows are seen frolicking every day. When driving past them in my truck  I see them strutting around and I believe one winked at me the other day.So it seems a lot of us are "jinxed".Nevertheless, like Jeff said ,I'll keep practicing just in case.

Those new guns are not good for you....just send them my way.  I'll do an exocism ritual on them......but they'll want to stay with me after that......

The pests around here see a UPS delivery truck with the driver carrying a long box up to the door...they know something wicked is coming their way very soon and they all haul feathers and fur to safer territory.  Even my dogs will look at that box and whimper because they have a good idea on what's inside it and they hate the noise it makes.  Man, if they think the sound from an air rifle is bad they might expire on the spot if I fired a 12 guage shotgun or a 30-06 deer rifle around them.  I need wish for a Christmas puppy this year that would make a halfway decent hunting dog.  ;-)
