The Daisy 880 is almost all plastic and made in China.
Dick's Sporting Goods carries the 2100, if there are any near you. If not, instead of ordering online, take a look at the Remington Airmaster 77 at Wal Mart. It is basically the same gun as the 2100 and has a scope. Yeah, it's about $70 but there's no shipping and if something is wrong it's easier to return. The 2100/Airmaster has a metal receiver and pump mechanism and is a much sturdier gun than the plastic 880. The scopes on both guns are not the greatest.
A few of my son's friends have 880's. The stock seems to work loose or break off where it attaches to the receiver. A friend of mine at work has an old 880 that has a metal receiver and pump lever. Now that is a nice gun!
But you won't find a gun like his at Wally World for $35!
I have a Crosman 2200 (.22 version of the 2100) and if the 2100/Airmaster is as good as the 2200, that's the way to go.
I will say the one drawback to the 2100/2200/Airmaster is loading the gun. It can be tricky at times to get the pellet in the loading port.
