L.I.F.T.
Long Island Field Target

We started the day at the at the store picking outrifles for our members to shoot.

Our choices included the Beeman HW100S, FX Cyclone, BSA Super 10, Gladi8or, BSA Lone Star, Air Arms TX200, Air Force Condor-Talon SS and the Webley Spectre Mark 2. The candy store was open!

We filled two scuba tanks and loaded up on pellets. The last two things we didn't want to run out of were air and ammo. We had plenty of air guns!!!!
Cobra Air Guns started L.I.F.T. so air gun enthusiasts could testsome of the high end rifles that may not be in theirbudget. We also wanted to bring together our customers toshoot, comparestats and basically to meet face to face. Forums can be so impersonal.

Unfortunately, some of ourfavorite 'shooters' couldn't make it. We missed them and they missed a great time.

Getting set up at the 25 yard pistol side

We sighted in our scopes and moved to the 50 yard lanes to test our skills. It was a windy morning and hitting the marksproved difficult - but not for Jim and Ralph! They upped the ante a little andbrought along their firearms -an AR6 .22 shotgun with slugs and some pistols. Jim's Beeman Goldfinger isbackat Beeman for some work. Joe brought his stable of goodies along, needless to say, we have few people in the market for Theobens.

After four hours at the range, Jim and Ralph had to leave - the rest of us were far from ending the day, so we said our good byes. Joe wanted to show us a spot that Jeff (the Long Island Hunter) brought him to on a previous outing. It sounded like a great idea, anything to get away from the noise of the powder burners. So we packedit up and off to the woods we went!!
Shortly we reached a little dirt road, piles of garbage rested on either side further in, the entryway was a bit secluded - much like a bat cave. Itsuited our needs having a quiet atmoshphere.

We took and old boat cushion and a few nails that were lying around and turned it into an instant target range. We also added some shotgun shells in the trees. Rod brought a 1 gallon steel oil can that made a nice ding sound at 50-70 yards!!!
Back at the 50 yard range Shane was the one to beat with the AirForce Condor popping shotgun shells off the target stands. Shane is one of L.I.F.T.'s top shooters. Not that I'm bragging, but like father, like son!
Tonya sat in the background and watched at therange due to her injured forearm - it was difficult for her to cock the brake barrel.

But in the woods

She showed up all the boys! Rod brought his custom Crosman 250 andshe was banging that oil can at 60 yards!! Tonya is by far L.I.F.T.'s sleeping giant!!!

Not only did we have nice woods made target range but plenty of wild life Joe & Rod spot a small flock of birds flying right into our target range. Joe and Shane went out for a walk about hunting for some small game but since we thought we were going to be at the range all day we did not bring any tic & mosquito repellent so needless to say it was cut short buy a tic attack they were every where.

All in all it was a great day of shooting!
Shane and Ileft our little air rifle range in the woods at around 5:00. Joe, Rod and Tonya were far from donetheyshotwell into the sunset.

about walking away after a day of shooting,Smiling looking down and saying

Looks like everyone had a BLAST, Dave. It's a whole lot of fun, when a couple of people can get togehter, for a day of shooting. You do have to watch out for the women tho, they have a way of just sitting back, watching and then show you how it's supposed to be down, hehe. My wife Tiffani, did the same thing at Gene's,LOL.
