The last I heard was that they had not yet begun production, been slavering over it since I saw it about a year ago,

I saw it on the shanghai website about a month ago. I think it would be a neat project gun. Wonder what gun they copied to make that one.

You know, the action almost looks like an AA S200 or Tau-200.  The power range is similar also, but it says "side cocking", and that doesn't exactly jive with the two I mentioned before, both are bolt actions (based on the same gun, but the actions are slightly different).  Interesting for sure, guess we'll all have to wait and see:)

This is the Shanghai Airguns AR2095. It's a PCP gun but is not currently available.

I have a prototype AR2095 here at Archer Airguns. It looks somewhat different to the photograph shown on the Shanghai website. Indeed, it's probably the only AR2095 in captivity in the US at the current time!

This gun was sent to me by the factory to provide feedback before they move forward to production. It is a single-loader using a side lever mechanism and features interchangeable air tanks. There's a safety withing the trigger guard ahead of the trigger itself. The one I have is in .177.

I've been asked not to share any more information publicly, however :-(

Can you at least tell us if you like it or not?

The design certainly has a lot of potential, though based on the prototype I have, there are still some areas for improvement. But then, that's why it's a prototype, duhhhh...

I've fed back my views and suggestions to the owner of Shanghai Airgun Factory - it will be interesting to see how many of them will be incorporated into the shipping product. But one thing I don't know is price - and some of my suggested improvements may not be necessary if the price turns out to be "right".

Another reason for the delay in shipping the AR2095 is that Shanghai Airgun Factory has moved location this year - further towards the outskirts of Shanghai. As with any corporate manufacturing facility move, there cannot help but be some delays and disruption to product availability because of this relocation. The factory has been trying to keep-up with production of the existing range, rather than introduce new products. In my view this is entirely understandable!

Thank you for the peek into this new PCP Steven. I had seen a few spy photos and rumors floating around the new.

Thank you for the info, Stephen. I understand completely. Both why you can't say more, and why it's taking so long to get to market. I remember when Dietz moved a few years ago, it was nearly impossible to find a Dietz lantern anywhere.

There is something about that rifle that I find very appealing. Could it be that it reminds me of a WW2 battle rifle?
