I too had once decided to end a hobby because it became "A job".

I was involved with the Paintball industry for 15 years and was a silent partner with a good friend.

We had made a name and where doing well.

But others came that did not feel the rules of play applied to them. We asked them to leave.
Later These people begain to attend our Games incognito, specifically to cause trouble.

We of course begain a preregistraition screening to weed them out.

This worked. For a while.

We had a very large game that was litterally planned out for a year in advance.

We had over 1700 people attending. My wife was the spokesperson for us and had gotten 30 industry manufacturers and professionals to come and help sponsor the game.

There was a donated prize package of over $100,000 in guns and equipment.

One of the afore mentioned people managed to break in and by pass the alarm system and cover the camaras and steal about $80,000 worth of equipment two days before the event.

After that I had some personal equipment stolen from me.

I gave a good by speech to all the players and quit.

My friend and I started out as a fun thing to do. Playing capture the flag in the woods throwing tennis balls at eachother.

We built it up from there..
The long nights up to 3a.m. and still manage to work a full time job.
All that was fun till then.

I understand your feelings on this.
I do hope you will keep intouch here on GTA.
You have always been a big help to me and others.

Have fun and be safe
