funky foggy scope..?.....and it ain't my eyes!!!!
« on: August 30, 2008, 01:46:29 PM »
this has never happened to me before and i was wondering if anyone has experienced it.  i have a centerpoint scope that sometimes looks "foggy" when you look through it.  i know my eyes are what they use to be and it does it when mr. crown isn't visiting so i can't blame it on him.  today i was shooting and all of sudden the scope went "foggy" again.  i started turning the a/o and nothing happened.  then i turn the magnification down from 16x to 10x and it cleared up.  i turned it back to 16x and it got "foggy" again.  what the hell?  i don't mind shooting at 10x but if a scope is capable of 16x, i expect it to work!!!  i'm sure a few out there will say i'm corking the bottle too much or smoking too many cigars but it does it when i'm drinking pepsi and smoking marlboro's too!!!  anyone else had this problem with a scope?

I have the same scope and mine does the same thing I belive that it is caused by refraction of the sunlight.

My CP4-16 is the same...Over 10x and it's foggy.I thought about trying a sunshade to see if it helped.

cheap scope, cheap optics. You get what you pay for. Could be the glass isn't polished right, could be moisture inside the tube, could be some oil has creeped in and gotten on the lens. Hard to say for sure.
