Calculating Spring Spacing

Charlie

A---First determine the measurement from the inside of the piston to the front of the end cap with the piston in it's Latched back position.

B---Deduct the thickness of the rear spring guide seat flange if applicable.

C---Deduct the thickness of the tophat if applicable. Now calculate the stacked height of the spring.

D---Calculate the stacked height of the spring by measuring the wire diameter of the spring wire and multiply it by the number of coils.

E---Now subtract (A), the maximum allowable from the the stacked spring height from the (D)

This is the maximum spacing allowable less .125 for error allowance and to prevent future cocking issues.
If the total max spacing is a negative number, you must reduce the spacing.
