Gee, looks great! Paintin' it black?
Is that body PVC? What are the caps made of?
Now that I'm shopping around for a 1322 shroud I'm seein' shrouds and brakes everywhere I look!

Turned out nice Tim. Looks like a piece of 3/8"copper, 3/4"pvc and 2 caps made with a 1" hole saw and a piece of hard wood. Am I close?(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif)
-
I'd guess more like 1-1/4 PVC.
-
Heya Parks,, Thanks for the reply!! Already has 2 coats of primer,,& yes Im gonna paint it flat black!! Yes the main tube is PVC,, the end cap is Poplar,, the "thread end" is Brazilian Cherry,, VERY HARD wood!! The sleeve is copper tubing drilled to fit perfectly snug on the Disco/Crosman Brl. Epoxy holds everything together. Shure takes ALOT of work to alighn everything just right!! I have it down pat now. After ALOT of final sanding & paint,, the last step is to epoxy it to the brl. permanently. This is a CRUCIAL step,, as final alighnment is critical!! I have made a few of these types of muzzle breaks now & can assure you,, the final step is of the utmost importance,, you only get one shot at it. Unlike "Profesionally Made" breaks with only grub screws holding them on,,If I mess up,, the break will be destroyed completly if I decide to remove it!! Trust me, been there!! (Just wood splinters & epoxy left on the end of the brl.!!) Course,, I do have a spare brl. for my Discovery if I mess up!!LOL!! Tim.
-
please tell me you did that on the TAILGATE OF YOUR TRUCK!!!!!!!!!!.....nice work bro!!
-
Yeah Mike,,, cant get anything past you Buddy!!He He!!!! Parks,, it,s 3/4" PVC,, 1 1/4" would be HUGE!! (That size PVC would GET ME IN TROUBLE!!LOL!!) Its just a cool little muzzle break meant to look cool !! When it is done it will look like its made out of metal,, promise!! (Not my first "Rodeo") He He!! Good Eye Mike,, Lord Knows we both have a little "Backyard Redneck" blood in our veins!!LOL!! Tim.
-
THIS IS REDNECK!! (http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg312/Timmyj1959/009-9.jpg) (http://s251.photobucket.com/albums/gg312/Timmyj1959/?action=view¤t=009-9.jpg) "Billy Buttcrack" at BEST!!Laugh ifin Ya want,,, WORKS though!!!!!!
-
Timmy Iam glade you showed us this .When I made that first stock for my pistol out of that white stuff I figured I was the only one that would admit to it being useful around air guns. Don't forget the finished pictures . Marvin
-
Tim, I was brought up to make do, with what I had and to do what needed to be done myself. Backyard Redneck, or Shade tree Ingenuity, it's all good.
-
all work was done on my back porch!! Could have easily been done on my taigate as well,, course,, Chrysler Financial may take my "Tailgate" from me if I dont send them a payment by Tues.!!LOL!! No,, NOT LOL,, this economy SUCKS!! Shure would like it if I had a new house to build!! Tim.
-

Great post Tim:)
I know there are alot of folks here that are not sure what can be done with a good brain, some basic tools and a few beers. When we see something like this we're more likely to try.
Thanks
Tinbendin' Dave

Nice work!! How did you make those holes perfectly centered with the barrel?
-
Im back at it again,,, just made a break for one of my 2240 pistols that turned out AWSOME!!!!!! Combined with my new "mini light",, Man I got one awsome lil shooter!!!!!!! Tim.

Here's a idea that may work!!!!!!!!!!!
spin yer drill press table on its side
and bolt one of these on to hold a
lathe tool. should be ok for alloy/plastic
if yer take very small cuts
-
Hi timmy Do I see a hole saw on your table maybe thats the tool for makeing B M' s you get near it and put a 1/4 20 bolt in the end cap and turn it to size with a drill press real slick . howie
-
Not shure I understand all you said Howie:? But,,, yes the holesaw I use & then mount the "Plug" in the drill press & turn down to fit the PVC pipe. Keeps the hole true center!! Im gettin better at it now!! I will post some pics. when I get back home!! Tim.

Way to go timmy , howie
