I was looking out the window this afternoon and caught this guy trying to chew on the side of my shed. This is the 2nd tree rat I caught trying to chew his way into my shed this year, to get to the bird seed stored inside. I got my new R7 ready and loaded it up with a CP 7.9 grain. It was a pretty long shot and I hadn't taken any shots outside with the gun yet, so I put the cross hairs on his mid section/boiler room shot and squeezed the trigger. I heard the POP and he just fell over and barely moved. I went down there and measured it out with my contractors tape, It was a 33 yard shot. I sold my old R7 to buy this new R7 and had been missing my quiet low powered yard gun for a while. I am sure this new R7 is going to be as fun to shoot and as accurate as my last one. It feels good to be home and on my way to recovery :)

"Boiler room/pump house" shots always work for me!!! Good job Bro!!!!! That's funny,...Bro' Shadow swears by the fuse box method, but I've had the best luck with organ kills,....OK,.... Shadow must be an electrician,...me, I'm more of the 'engine room' type of hunter. But hey, both methods get the job done. LOL's Nice shot Chris, tjk

Nice shot Chris !! Good to see your up and able to shoot......

I really like the mid to low powered shooters. They seem to do as much or more damage than a higher powered rifle with a well placed shot. With less velocity, I feel the impact of the pellet and ft lbs is absorbed bye the animal and not the ground. I couldn't find an exit hole and he went right down.
-
Good to have you back & shooting Chris! That's a great looking R7 btw! Nice shooting at 33yds too!
Yeah the squirrels's vitals are actually a little lower than some people think.. about half-way down in the mid-section.
What's the "DG" after R7 in your sig?

Thanks guys, it really helps my recovery to be home with my family my dogs and fine shooters :) O and these guys too...
-
HA ! Nice pupperdoos !! I'll trade ya some stuckup cats for one......
-
Harry, it's the R7 double gold combo. It comes with the muzzle break no sights and a 3x9x40mm scope, although this is the 3x9x32 . I just received the right scope (little mixup) and have not installed it yet.
-
Brent, I would trade ya, but I am down to one pup. I had deposits before I bred, but I had someone back out on the pic male. I am thinking about keeping him, but the wife may find one of my powder burners and shoot me...lol
Unless Timmy is looking for a new hunting dog ???

Cute pups, are they pits? So cute before they grow up into vicious, bloodthirsty killing machines. (hahahahahaha) One of my customers has a good eatin' size Staffordshire, and it's as sweet and playful as a puppy. It stood up on it's hind legs, and was licking my ear. Customer asked me if he was bothering me. I told her,"No, he's just tasting. He's not bothering me, unless he takes a bite." Nice dog. Has a head like a horse. Best part is, he's not a crotch sniffer.
BTW, I like that R7. I've been thinking of selling most of my air rifles to help pay for one. I absolutely love my R1 and would like to have it's mild mannered little brother. Same reason I like shooting my B3s, low to mid powered springers are easier to shoot well.

Looks like you're off to a good start! Is that BBQ'd tree-rat I'm smellin' down here?!?!
-
Yeah Jeremy, they are UKC registered american pitbull terriers. It is a shame they get in the wrong hands, they are very loyal and eager to please. I have had shepards dobermans and rotweilers and out of them all, these are the most stable dogs I have ever owned. My dogs have never even growled at anyone and my male is now 6.5 years old. In the UK they are called the nanny dog and are one of the best family dogs.

O yeah matt, he is in the fridge with some barbeque sauce right now... I will be having him for lunch tomorrow while the wife is at work :)

Real nice shot Chris.Fine meal too. Loved the pic's. Glad you're up and around.

Chris:
Good shooting, but little surprise that the R7 is deadly accurate. I have the first cousin of your R7 Double Gold -- the HW30S (The select model comes with the Rekord trigger). I think either rifle is the perfect urban/suburban backyard "BB gun". Powerful enough to dispatch squirrels easily. Very quiet. Almost effortless to cock. An absolute pleasure to shoot. Glad that I bought this little rifle latter in my air gunning experience, else I might never have had the lust for bigger, "better" air rifles. Hard to improve on the R7DG in close quarters.
PS: Best wishes for a speedy recovery! How much is that doggie in the window?

Fine shootin Chris and the R7 show's her hunting side with pride, we'll be looking for more from her.:) Great pic of her with her harvest, love sleeping squirrel's. Ed

Tommy, I agree the R7/HW30 is deadly accurate and very fun and easy to shoot. I sold my other R7 and decided to get the double gold, because I liked it so much. The double gold is more of a carbine version with a 3.20 inch shorter overall length. I was really missing my old R7 and was patiently waiting for my new one to arrive. I don't think I will do that again :) The only way I will ever sell this one, is if I have another to replace it before it leaves.
It's definitely my go to gun to dispatch nuisance squirrels and birds in my back yard/garden.

Contractor`s tape.....time to modernize man!!!!!....get yourself one of those rangefinders. heh heh Very good shooting btw.
