You want to stay away from compressed air and PVC at the boat shop I worked for they built a air line from sch 80 PVC and when I let go lucky no one was near it sent pieces of plastic all ovet the thing is that they were told by one of the employees that this could happen since he had it happen at a shop he worked at. If you are going to make something like your spud or golf ball shooter go with steel not PVC , howie

That's why you build'em out of steel. http://www.gatewaytoairguns.com/airguns/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=9312&mid=68617#M68617

That's fine but PVC is made for water if it breaks it cracks and does not explode, The reason when they hydro scuba tanks by filling them with water is that they will crack if they break and not explode they pressure test scuba tanks to 8 fifths of the working pressure a 3000 psi al 80 cu ft tank is tested to 4800 psi it can  kill some one by exploding compressed air is very hairy stuff, I know of 2 incidents  in places I worked that had  PVC air systems let go at 125 psi after a time in service, Do what you want but it's dangerous. howie
