just busy doing what I injoy. The last two day's I've spent back over at the Residents that I removed the Country Rat from. Both night's were not boring at all with the first night spent watching two Country Rat's and three Raccoons hang around the house but none stood still long enough or hung around to give me a clean safe shot. I was setup in the same spot out in the wood's ready to go again the second night and the wait was rewarded by the first arrival of a large Raccoon which appeared from the woodline fifteen yards to my left and headed right for the garbage can next to the house, this guy's mine tonight. I was already locked and loaded so I slowly raised myself up to a knee and again followed him with the crosshairs as he sniffed around the can. They seem to know that the cement block's next to the can are the direct path to the grub and he made his way up to the lid and on top of it. He wouldn't give me a side profile but head on so I took it. Crosshairs on the center and just above the mask, laser on and lamp's blazing with the Predator already on it's way. "POP" said the Predator as it hit bone and I watched as he rolled of the can and hit the ground and kicked around for a minute but never let out a sound. I waited for another five minutes and watched him through the scope, satisfied I loaded another just in case and headed for him. I slowly moved closer then gave him a couple pokes with the barrel, he's finished and the Predator found it's mark dead on. What a heavy fella as I picked him up and set him up for a pic with my proud baby, she rock's. This one's going to a friend who loves coon meat also so into the truck with the harvest and stopped by his place on the way home to drop off some fresh meat. "You didn't clean it for me" he said lol lol I'm the one hanging out in the wood's at night just to keep your icebox full hehehe but I love it.:) Ed

-
Thanks Harry and John and I did get back out and the crosshairs were filled with possum hehe. I'm sure glad that I got my hands on one of the CFX.22 when they were around.:) Ed
-
Ed, you really are the Night Stalker. That coon'll make a nice hat.
-
Those coons are plenty mean when they want to be. We had a cat that got in a fight with a coon and the coon did some serious damage to the feline.
They also carry rabies and distemper. Be careful handling them.
-
Thank's Jeremy and as always I approach these guy's with extreme caution. Raccoons can be extremely dangerous, I've seen em rip up coondogs something terrible . Ed
-
Yeah, they're cute but ferocious. They sure make a good looking hat. I need to find somewhere to hunt raccoons. I've gotten to the point that I'd rather hunt with my air guns than with my powder burners. It's just so satisfying.
