Anyone with a Diana rifle will agree that these guns are powerful!! Well here's a lesson to learn for the new and experienced shooters,....kinda embarrassing story to tell. Yesterday afternoon I was doing my usual practice session and had the spoons spinning. Well I got the idea to try the open-sights just barely visible through the Leaperscompensator scope rail. While there's not much room for view, it is possible. I shoot south-paw, and was having a hard time bringing the target into focus,closer,...closer,...etc. Wasn't quite ready to fire when the sear let loose and she went off,.....lesson #1,...Keep you finger off the trigger until ready to fire. Lesson #2 forget trying to go to the irons with these mounts!!!! Well you guessed it folks,....not a case of 'scope-eye',...but more like'scope fore-head'!!! Ouch!!!!!! Nice little cresent slice over my right eye. Needless to say, I got a1" gash that cut me down to the white-meat,....no ratial slur intended,...but enough worthy of a few stitches. Did the "home" medical procedure and cut a few butter-flies to close it up. Stitches are too expensive at the present time. Boy did I feel stupid,... and STILL DO,......but it is a lesson I'll soon not forget,...if ever. I'll be reminded of it each time I look into the mirror for the rest of my life.I love this rifle, and have found little fault in its performance, but I will say that the triggercan be inconsistant, as I've found out since I'vehad it. Still no excuse for what happenned to me,...That's My Fault. But I wishthe Diana company could have put a little more thought intoit's design. Just MyHonest Opinion though. For such a fine weapon, they kinda dropped the ball with this faccet of design. It's a shame the GRT-III wouldn't work in this rifle. What does Homer Simpson say?!?!?!?........Dooooooh! Happy Shooting, andlet my story be a lesson to us all. tjk

Thomas, sorry to hear about your headache, but you did the right thing, by not going to the Dr he would have just put a little super glue in it. A friend of mines son did something stupid, got a 3/4in gash in his forehead, border line, on stitches. My buddy took him to the Dr, to be sure he would remember how dumb it was, all they did was a drop of super glue and gave him a big bill. My buddy asked them why they didn't stitch it, they said if it's going to be less than 5 stitches we just glue them now. It sounds like your trigger is not adjusted properly, if the screw is turned too far out, you loose the 2nd stage. Turn it in some and it should get better.

don't you just love it!!!...i had a similiar thing happen the other day with the d-54. the action moves back in the stock and the scope hit my hat and knocked it sideways. live and learn!!...guess that is another reason why they are classified as "adult airguns"...ha!!!! i agree with you 100% about the diana triggers. i wish someone could figure out how to put a rekord trigger on them!!!

Sorry about that head, Thomas. I always kep a few things around the house for "bathroom surgeries". The super glue you guys refered to is called Derma-Bond. Other than a little sting--it works well--just need 2-3 coats for the deeper stuff. That stuff, some butterflys, sutures and needles (sterile, of course), can really save you some cash. You know, I've heard that superglue was originally developed for wartime medical use--but don't really know.

Thanks fellas!! Roger,...that hurt,....Maybe Bonehead would be more approriate!! LOL's Note to self,.....invest in Derma-Bond!!!! Thanks for the first aid tip Mike. On the up-side to this latest fiasco,...after the home medic job,...I went back out and shot it again to see if the 'impact' of the scope to 'numb-skull' collision caused any shift in target 'allocation',......nothing changed!!! Still slapped the spoons as normal,...but decided that was enough for the night. They stared getting a bit fuzzy!?!?!?!?!?! Duh-Huhhhhhhh, tjk

Hope you didn't brain your damage, Thomas.
