: How to make a pellet sizing block
: fisherdude October 02, 2008, 02:41:36 PM
I have seen a desctiption on how to build a pellet sizing block using different size holes.  My question is "How do I drill different size holes .177, .182, .185, etc. ?"  Are there drill bits in these sizes?  How do I make these holes?

Hi.. drill the  hole undersize then use a small tappered reamer to make holes of diffrent Dia's.
The deeper you drill though with the reamer the bigger the holes will become.
You can also get a set of number drills these a scaled in hole area not Dia as standard drills are.
I use to have a set for drilling carb jets, I don't think the set I had would have gone up that
big but you should be able to to get a set in the size range you require.

You can get drills the same size or pretty darn close from Machinery & Tool suppliers like Enco.
If you've got a set of calipers, take a quick measurment of the pellet and go to the drill index.

This is where I get my Drill Bits: http://www.use-enco.com/CGI/INSRAR?PMSECT=0000000618

Harbor freight usually runs that 60 piece set for about $10. They're decent bits as long as you're not drilling anything tougher than mild steel.
: Thanks folks!
