She finally came in.  WOW!  What a shooter!  Fit and Finish is all that you would expect from RWS.  After sighting her in, I got 1/4" groups at 25 yds using H&N round nose pellets.  Not bad for a brand new rifle, being shot for the first time.  I'm in love already.  The recoil is quite different than I expected.  Rather than a kick, it's more like a push.  Everything is smooth, and pretty quiet.  No dieseling or barrel smoke.  Just a solid rifle.  I can't wait till my big pellet order comes in from Pyramid, so I can really test her in the field.

And every day it gets better. 700-800 rounds threw,a home lube job and sent the trigger to John in PA it now breaks a 1 lb smooth as silk.

Nice 350!!  Congrats!!

I think Diana is making their rifles better now with improved QC and much smaller tolerances.

I say this because when I got my 350 .22 in the summer of '07, I would never have described it "smooth & quiet".  Do you own any other Springer rifles you can compare it with?  My 350 have a hefty recoil when new and was loud!  Much louder than my 36 .177 (same as 34).  It did get a lot better after ~600 shots and smoothed out a bit.  It didn't really get real good and more quiet until about after 1,200 shots though.

Phil:  You had (or still have) the regular 350 .22.  How do you compare the Compact Pro with your older 350 .22 with the Monte Carlo style beech stock?  Your 350 was on steroids shooting 880+fps with 14.3gr pellets!

Super Lookind Carbine Jonathan!!! I looked at the 'feuerkraft 350' and really wished I could afford it after a tune and decent scope. No-Way said the check book    Let's face it, Diana's are a tough act to follow. If I could win the lottery, I'd get the 350, or a Weirauch,...wait a minute,....eff it,...I'd get both!!!!! Now that you've got such a great gun, you not only owe us some great hunting pix/stories,.....we demand them, and will hound you down  for each and every  tid-bit too!!!!! LOL's Can't imagine the joy you'll have in the field with that "BB-Gun",....He He He!!! tjk

Hey Jon, she is a real beauty. I am working on a 34 Pro Compact and hope she comes out as nice as your 350. It is to bad they do not offer replacement stocks with checkering. But they are fantastic shooters without the checkering..:)

Thanks for sharing.

The only things I have to compare my new 350 to are my old RWS 45 in .177, a borrowed Quest 800 (.22), my dad's RWS 48 in .22, my uncle's RWS 48 in .177, or my old Gamo "survival rifle" in .177.  As far as recoil goes, the 350 has plenty.  However, the motion is different.  My 45 has a hard kick backward, and forward.  The models 48's just seem to have a sharp kick back.  All of them seem to have about the same noise level.  The Quest seems to have a little less recoil, but more noise.  The Gamo not much of anything.  The 350 however is a little quieter than the 48's (not much), and the recoil isn't sharp.  Although it does kick, it's more like a slower harder push into the shoulder, and a very slight forward movement.  The cocking effort of the 350 and it's shorter barrel is a little harder than my 45, of course, less leverage.  My dad's 48 in .22 seems to be very slightly slower than my 350.  There is VERY LITTLE differance.  But I do like the feel  of my 350 better.

The only analogy I can think of when comparing the difference in recoil is that the 350 is more like shooting a rocket, instead of a cannon.

I hope that  makes sense.

Hey Harry, Yes I still have the 350 .22 and WILL NEVER let it go. And I think the same way about the pro compact .177. I like the stock on the .22 better but that is why Im going to try my hand at stock making. I have a 46 in the works as well LOVE THEM DIANAS
: Hey Harry,

What was the date on your noisy 350 with loose tolerances?  Mine is stamped 04/07.

: only1harry October 09, 2008, 01:43:53 PM
Mine is 01/07.  I never said my 350 was "noisy" with loose tolerances.  I just thought you were comparing it to other 350's or Magnum springers..  I doubt yours is much different than mine.  The way you describe your 350 is about the same as mine which is still being super-tuned right now so it will come back 10X better.  My (untuned) 350 compared to a tuned Diana 36 I have, and compared to a Beeman R1 I have shot, "kicked" more and the report was louder.  Like I said everything got better though after several hundred shots which is the norm, and the recoil seemed to have had diminished some, but the gun was accurate right from the box and there were really no issues with it.  It just had some twang which mostly went away after 600-700 shots.  It actually was very easy to cock for the power it had.  Yours will improve too as it breaks in.

Enjoy it and shoot it in good health.  I try and shoot them as much as I can.  It relaxes me and puts a smile on my face :)

Thanks for setting things straight.  I misunderstood you're comment about your 350.
