It's 8:30 AM Friday morning and I walk out back to check for squirrels this time tobe greeted by a very large (to me)and *_*_*_*_*_*ed Raccoon hanging from a roof vent..He was stuck mid body and could not get out or back in...It took all 200+ pounds of myself to pull him out of the hole after he was dispatched with several(im petrified of coons).22cal Kodiak heavys..

That's hilarious!

The Raccoon was kinda like a swinging target hehe. That's one of the places that they like to hold up for winter and more will find it if the holes are not meshed over. Was it a female or male ?, if it was a female she may have been looking for a future nesting spot. They can get real nasty when their cornered or STUCK! in your case but it looks like you took care of the problem just fine. I see that your Wagner power painter may be clogged though, it's spitting that RED! on the side of your house lol. Great story and the pic's say it all.:) Ed

Lol you do know you can cover those holes with some metal grills/vent covers. That was a great pic :)
-
Nice!! That's one of the most unique pics I 've seen on GTA! hehehe Blood splatter all over too. Doesn't get better than that. Love graphic pics! :)
So did you shoot him point blank since he was trapped? :-) I would have used him for target practice. Back off 20-30yds and go at it, but that's just me :) Just kidding.. Thanks for sharing Brent.

Id left the back door cracked so the cat could go out during the night We also feed him (the cat) back there so im pretty sure he(Raccoon) snuck in to get a snack and somehow Coon or cat knocked over a large bag of charcoal that was next to the door..Door was pushed closed and Bingo..The left side of the enclosed porch is a weight room where me and my stepson work out,all the posters he had on the walls were ripped to schreds and several of the 4' x 2' mirrors were also knocked over..He managed to scale the unfinished wall, get in the space between the rafters and ripped the steel mesh vent covers off ..
Ed...He was a buck
Harry..From bout 5 yards I wasent getting no where near that thing till dead..

Thats just wicked!!! He won't be be HANGIN around anymore....
-
Oh so he was trapped in there. That makes sense now. That's the worse. A racoon locked up in a room is BAD as you found out. They 'll rip your walls apart. What they do is they smell the outside or some fresh air getting in, so they 'll attempt to cut, rip through, chew, shred, etc. to get out to where the 'outside air is coming from. You just experienced first hand the destruction capability of 'vermin'.

Talk about a "shotgun" pattern!!!
-
hahahaa i love gthe disclaimer then the horror shot, lol
-
Looks like your critter got your kids play equipment all messy. Did you get a chance to clean that up before they saw it?

You know you can eat those things, right? They are much better than groundhog, by the way.
When I was a young man, in the service, I came home one weekend and we had "squirrel gumbo". As I was working through the gumbo I found this rather large thigh bone and I said, "Dad, there ain't no damn squirrel with a thigh bone this big! What are we eating?" He told me 'coon.
It was tasty.
Now the ONLY way to eat a ground hog is to crock pot it, but 'coons can be cooked like rabbit. Squirrel needs boiling, or a crock pot, but coons and rabbits are pretty tender meat.
Nutria, now there is a meat that is interesting, for those of you who can get it. Nutria is a "gynormus" water rat. Looks like this:

They are really tender because all they eat are "vegans". They only eat veggies. They have a nice light colored meat and the fur is great, if you know how to tan fur.
Well...
