Crow are remarkably clever birds and they are very challenging to hunt. That vid. is so cool.
-
I enjoyed that,,,,, like Peak said, they are extremely intelligent birds.
They taste good too :)

The term birdbrain definitely does not apply to them. I've never hunted crows, but I have had them spoil my deer and small game hunts.
-
Now if I could teach one to be a hunt buddy, fly around then return to me with intel on varmint whereabouts hehehe. They are very smart fellas for sure.:) Ed

Falcons!
-
That was an incredible display of thier problem solving ability...like their ability to solve the problem of being shot...by increasing their distance from shooters.
-
They are smarter than me!
-
Smart! I don't think my 4 year old could figure that out.
-
Yes, but can they tune a fast deer? LOL
-
Don`t make very small airguns....or they`ll be using them on us!!!!!!!!
-
They are scary smart.
Today 4 of them were going to land on my Willow tree and I approached the window to take a peak as they were making their descent. Well they saw me from 40+yds out, and just before their feet touched the branches they all took off without landing. One of them seperates from the group and sets course straight for my window and does a fly-by 4-5ft away! He must 've been around last year when I shot a few of its buddies :) That was a message like "we see you and we know what you 're up to"!!
One of them did that to me when I shot its buddy last year. I was standing on the top of the steps by my 2nd floor porch where I had just shot one. I almost lost my balance holding the Diana 350 (reloading it) when a crow came out of nowhere and cawed at me flying 2-3ft over my head and almost hit the roof! This is why I like going after them. They are very challenging, but mean & ugly at the same time so I don't mind putting a few of them down to remind them who is boss around these parts, hehe.

When I was much younger, my uncle and I would shoot crows in western Kansas. In several counties, there was actually a bounty on the winged black vermin. These crows were so thick, when a flock of them landed on the highway, it looked like the road was moving. Crows behave much differently in large groups. In fact, they are almost stupid! My uncle and I would line up 2 or 3 birds at a time to see how many we could kill with one .22LR. I never got more than 2 at a time, but Uncle Gary put down 3 at once on several occasions.
When they are alone or in pairs, these birds are very wary and cagy. I guess people are somewhat the same. Put them in large groups (soccer fans, for example) and they get stupid, too!
