ooooh...thats a subject that is in one of the non productive posts i think...granted, a legal one, that is registered, has no issue..but, the moderators don't want anyone to at all be in any way encouraging someone to fabricate one...thats probably why.  its a big no-no, and i'm sure either gene, or stephanie will give you a much better explanation than this one, haha...no-no isn't exactly the most technical way to explain it.

unless you register it same as you would a firearm(first you have to spend a few hundred to apply for one first, then you can buy one)

its much more strict over here in the us with stuff like that.

idt anyone will get upset at you for asking a ?...just as long as you don't give anyone any ideas.

OK...Didn't realise
As long as you are 18 you just walk in
to a gun shop and buy one over here.

wow...i do dislike how strict the laws are over here...i wish i could get for example, a daystate air ranger 80 ft/lb and get the sound dampening device that is offered, but, rules are rules...and it makes the streets a little safer, so, w/e...lol, besides, i'm not going to be purchasing a gun like the air ranger any time soon...maybe in like ten years, or so.lol(over 2 grand on a gun is just not in any way a purchase i think i will ever be making...would be nice if i won the lottery or something...oh yea, thats right...you gotta play that to win it...:-P...)

In Canada it`s a $250,000.00  fine and/or a 5 year sentence.....if you have one that`s not permanently attached to the airgun.  I don`t even think a real firearm is allowed to have one at all.

You can post the pics Alan, just don't talk about them....LOL

Actually, we can buy some models of air rifles here with "moderators" if they have been approved for import from the manufacturer with the device permanently attached. My BSA Ultra has the full size SAS "moderator" on it from the factory.

Here's the link to the thread regarding definitions of what is or is not legal in the U.S., and to our philosophy of discussing sound moderating devices on this forum:
