Went out today, a didn't ever get a clear shot a a woodland BT. My pal Pete and I honed inon one, but he had the better shot. He aimed but pulled back,..after standing frozen for a minute, I decided to walk in the opposite direction to get the nutters attention so Peye might get a better shot. Then I went off for some solo hunting. Pete never got that ideal "shooting solution". It rainned earlier, so the leaves didn't russle to much. Still over-cat for the most part.Every time the sun would peak the tops of the trees the "chatter" would strike up,,....but as soon as the clouds came back over.,.......silence. Nofeezer stock today.Luckily for me, I planned ahead and thawed a freezer bag fromsummer's takes. I opted for thecrock-pot roast BTstuffed with deer sausage, spinach, a touch of mozzarella cheese,....andthe rest is a secret!!! Here's some pixfor your viewing pleasure!!!! tjk

Thanks fellas, but I can't tell ya folks everything I know!!!???!!! It's taken me many a bachelor years worth of 'trial &/or error' to reach such a culinary status!!!! Yeah right!!! LMAO. I will admit I love to cook,...even though I'm a super-welter-weight sized fella. Grandma used to say I had a hollow leg. Ate one of them for supper last night with all the fixin's,..except bisuits,...that I've never master as of yet,....and chowed down. Didn't care for this go-rounds 'stuffing' trial ( works better with a deer loin sliced and rolled), and used the two remaining BT's and made some squirrel and noodle stew with rice and veggies. I don't understand why our "moderators" don't consider a cooking gate. Then I might let a secret hint out once in a while,....maybe!!!!! LOL's tjk

I bow to you Thomas !! That looks great and I just bought my wife a new crockpot yesterday...HMMmmmmmmmm

I think some sauteed garlic, eggplant, tomato, and zucchini would be great in that rat. I think I'll try it myself. Hadn't thought of using the 6.5 qt crock pot to cook them whole. I was thinking about using the 8 qt dutch oven, though I'd really like to get a potjie. My wife wants me to cut them up and make Brunswick stew in the crock pot. I told her that something like Brunswick stew deserves the honor of being cooked in cast iron over hardwood coals.

Don't know why I didn't smell this cookin before hehehe, NOW! that's how it's done.:) Ed

You know, if I had the land for the next fun-shoot, I'd gladly host the next get together,....unfortunatly I don't. My place is all I could afford at the time when I bought it, and it's a tad too urban for our needs. But if someone would step up to host the next one, you could count on me to help with the set up and clean up with the event. Already offered my services for the cookin too. So how about it folks, anyone willing to step up to the plate?!?!?!? My only concern at this time would be the distance. To me somewhere in the Columbia area would be ideal, and fair for all with regards to travel and cost. Sure would be nice to see everybody again!!!! tjk
