No dancing for this guy. At about 12 yards and 980 FPS with a Polymag Predator, profile shot, it's pretty much velox mortis, rodentia! In and out. Not much of a hunting story, though. Sorry.

like the pics! beautiful gun!
-
Nice shootin and pic's T-CUP! :) I wouldn't think that he would have done much else other then drop over dead lol. The Hunter Elite and Predator's, deadly combo for sure. Ed
-
Yes, but the CDT GHE may need a new camo paint job. Maybe even one just like that good looking gray urban camo job you just posted, except with a few gray camo hi-lites added along the matte black barrel shroud as well as tje scope. Whadday think, Ed?
I sent you a PM

Anytime T-CUP, the shops open and ready to sling some color.:) Ed

Good shot with the Gamo Hunter Elite.....is that the one with 50lb cocking effort?
-
you're thinking about the extreme...the elite is pretty much a shadow 1000 that looks like the extreme...same powerplant as the shadow
-
Nice shootin & pic. Tommy!! That gun looks alot like my new Hunter Extreme:? It,s a bear to cock,,, lil "scrunchy",, kinda harsh,, but pretty darn hard hittin & accurate!! So,,,, seems I remember readin Yer cleanin & eatin them "nutters" now:?? Have Ya figured out how to cook em so they get just a little more tender than leather??LOL!! Tim.
-
ya know, i'm actually interested on this...what exactly do you do once you clean a squirrel to get it tasting alright?(easy recipies...i don't have too many things at my disposal...)

Pogo Timmy:
I had a good friend, name o' Bob, tune up this puppy. No scrunch, not twang. Just that distinct "TWHACK" of a high velocity Predator finding its mark. This Hunter Elite is easy to cock, but with the Maccari kit, still cranks out Gamo Hunters at about 980 FPS, if I remember Bob's numbers correctly. Pretty flat shooter out to 25 yards. Holds 1/2 in groups at 50 yards with Beeman FTS. And all that 10-meter shooting practice has sure improved my back yard varmint control. This was a left handed, step out the back door, just throw it up and shoot off-handed kill, and I forgot to set the AO and dial down the mag, so thing were a bit fuzzy. But it pretty much hit the mark, I'd say.
I am thinking I may have Ed camo this shooter and go for the tri-fecta -- A CDT tune & trigger, a Maccari power plant, and a Shadow paint job. What could be finer? Maybe a dull green-gray base instead of white, with the gray/black urban camo pattern. Something at least a bit unusual and unique, I believe.
This little rifle could become my favorite squirrel gun. It doesn't have the power or the "reach out and touch someone" characteristics of the Di 48 /.20, but it is deadly accurate and easy to throw up and shoot, even if the critter only holds still for just a moment.

Dave:
Thomas and Ed are the squirrel chefs, I believe. Sorry. No good suggestions for you.
-
You pick the color combo, I'll splash it on buddy.:) Ed

Good work Tommy !!! I think your on the right track with having Ed sling some color on her..

First during the cleaning process you need to remove all of the scent glands. As you clean out his intrals there are a pair located against his spine in the lower pelvic region, these usually comes out with the intrals. Next there is a huge one located under each of the front arm pits. There is a bb sized gland located behind each rear knee and a matching one on each front shoulder about a third of the down.
I boil my squirrels in the pressure cooker with a bay leaf, theme, onion, and garlic until the meat is falling off the bones. Next I remove the meat from the pot disposing of the spices, bones, and broth. What you have left is tender meat that can be used in any recipe that you would use chicken or turkey in.
