Looks like natural causes?? Tim.

Well,, from what I could determin,,, looks like they stumbled & fell 15 yrds. onto a small "Stick":?? While the sticks did not puncture the skull at the weakest point (IMO),, the fall proved fatal. Poor Deer. They should "evolve" some thicker hide on tops of thier little heads if they cant learn to be more gracefull & stop fallin down!! If the stick had hit them on the side between the eye & ear,,, it may not have proved fatal,, they would have had to fallen harder!! Poor little Deer,s,, they really should be more carefull::?? Tim ( For "My Buddy" that asked me!!LOL!!).
-
Looks like someone polished them off with a round to to head!Hmmmm.
-
Looks like a bullet went through each of the skulls. You only found the skulls....no other bones/body parts?
-
Yup look's like thy took one to the skull , as said no bone pile next to em?. They'll make for nice pellet testing.:) Ed
-
They were aready tested back when they had "Fur" on em. They both passed!! He He!!. I only kept,,errrrr,,,, found the skulls!! LOL!! Tim.
-
Hmmm hehehe. Ed
-
Yea one of them high powered bows gets em every time!
-
Nice going Tim!! Wow I did not expect you to shoot.. hum I mean find 2 of them! :-)
I think those looks like pretty decent shot, hum.. I mean "stick" placements :) Great job (finding them) buddy. Did they die quickly from those wounds? Maybe it was just small rocks shooting from a truck tire that pierced their skull while they were hanging out at the side of the road? :-)
Where is the ideal POI? Where you have the target paper? I may have a "bigger" airgun soon so I might try to find stumbling dead deer when the season opens in a couple of weeks :)

Only One "Kanowbie",,,, where I have the "X" is best,, as you can see, there is quite a elivation of margine:? Not too much margine of error windage wise:? I would not expect ANY leathal wounds from falling on "sticks" if they land on thier side,,, (Tween eye & ear) ,,, unless they "Fall" with over 30 ft, lbs. on the "Stick". (Im talkin falling CLOSE to branches/ sharp sticks n such.) Seems these two fell,, about 15 yrds,,, landed on a round (Dome shaped) stick resulting in about 23 ft. lbs energy. My best guess,,(Being the SUPER SMART guy I am),, is thier heads were traviling somewhere around 825 fps. when they fell on the sticks. Based on my studies,,, I feel I can testify as an EXPET witness, the "Sticks" were aproximatly 14.5 grs. in weight. They measured right at .25". Lots of Deer fall in the mountains of the east,, I m just trying to study this to help save the Deer,,, I LOVE EM!! Tim.
-
Forgot: Harry,, I saw the last 2 Deer in my study,,, they fell down a steep mountain side,, when they hit the stick,,, they DROPPED INSTANTLY,,,, Course falling 15 yrds. results in QUITE an impact as well as a "little Domed Stick):? Im still studyin FDS. (Falling Deer Syndrome). Ill keep Ya posted. Tim.
-
Tim you would make a great cryptographer!! hehe
Yeah FDS is definitely new and very little is known about it.. I 'm glad you were there to witness it and help science understand it buddy :)
So this was not the 0.5" stick in the shape of a dragon, but the 0.22" stick they fell on that did them in? So you made the Discovery by yourself?
How did I do so far? :)
