I had sent an IZH61 back to EAA because it was mangling pellets through the feed mechanism. I just talked to them and they told me that the gun was fixed, they tested it, and it's on it's way back to me. I asked him what they did to it and the answer came back 'they adjusted the barrel'.
The pellets were getting boogered up in the receiver portion of the gun - before they ever entered the barrel itself. I'm thinking the guy just made something up. Does anyone know what this guy is talking about?

Some times, companies won't tell you "exactly" what they fixed.
"Adjusted the barrel" could be a multitude of different things.
Based on the construction, it would be difficult to tell where the pellet was being mangled.
Unless you could feel it in the bolt as you closed the bolt.
Anyway, just wait till it gets back and if it works fine...be happy.

On the '61, there's a short channel oh, about 1/2" long or so through which the pellet travels before it gets to the barrel itself. I unscrewed the barrel, loaded a clip, pointed the gun down, and worked the arm back and forth to index the magazine and chamber the pellets. As each pellet was pushed into the channel it would just fall out (because there was no barrel waiting for it). The pellets were coming out damaged, so there was no question that it was happening as the pellet moved from the mag into that channel.
I also pulled the bolt out and looking from the back I could see the misalignment between the mag and that channel.
I'm just hoping that the clown I talked just threw some words at me, and that the guy who actually worked on the rifle knew what he was doing. But I'm not optimistic.

Now Vince....:) you would not want them to give up any of there trade secrets on repairing that IZH61, would you?...:)
